there will be a boat load of big hits by the Seawolves this week, next week and every week they play. they hit hard often and legal. Dogs running hard and fast should be in Madison early. Will be at my favorite watering hole before the game wearing a number that had the Badgers number.

I was at both the 01-02 brawl at the KC and the 04-05 brawl at the Coliseum. I think, because it was a playoff series, they were a little more hesitant to hand out DQ's, but it was definitely an all-out brawl amongst pretty much everyone on the ice.

I'll always remember that series - really, the only UW games I've seen (aside from some as a very young child visiting the grandparents in Madison) at the Coliseum. Between the beer garden, the fights, the ice storms, and the eventual UW victory in the series, it was a great weekend of hockey (as a fan).

The 2002 brawl happened right at the end of the game as all the players spilled over the boards for handshakes, but the last few skaters in the period were getting into it.

I'm not. *shrug*

I don't have anything to base this on, so you might as well ignore me, but Bennett seems to be one of those guys that Eaves really likes, and I think Bennett might have to screw up badly on a number of occasions before really getting benched.

Besides, I thought the rotation was working fine until Bennett was given the Sat start, and I'm fine with keeping the rotation for a bit longer until someone really wins (or loses) the job outright or until they really need to pick a #1 for the end-stretch.

Well, it wasn't me who asked, but I'd like to see it . . . :)

Stop by and say "hi" after the game? We usually meet up in front of the Nicholas Suites (or whatever it's called) in front of the KC before heading off to wherever. (I'll be Tom Gilbert again; I've decided to be Tom Gilbert all season.)

I don't get it, but I'm just a schlub. Goody has done NOTHING wrong to have him polishing pine. He deserves tonight's game & has earned it. I hope Eaves isn't going on a "hunch" again.

If Eaves is worried about Bennett's psyche, I would worry more about Goody's....hell he hasn't played for 3 games and probably wondering why. I've got nothing against Bennett; I just don't see much of a difference (at least until the Rodentia Saturday night game).

Maybe Bennett is outshining Gudmandson in practice.

The biggest key to the series that I will be watching is how good will the UW power play be? I thought they showed some signs of life on Saturday vs UM, but just couldn't reach paydirt with the puck. They had a ton of good opportunities generated by Davies in the slot and good puck movement on the point that Kengas made saves on. If they put that kind of power play together tonight, UAA should be no problem. I can't wait to see some hockey tonight. It's torture not to be able to watch it for 6 whole days!

Well we got a power play goal it looks like, but we really didn't need it. I didn't watch the game because I was busy tonight, but I'll take a 5-1 Friday victory. The Badger blog guy says that Bennett was very good in goal tonight which is encouraging. Bendickson also has a career night with 2 goals. He needed that because he was in danger of being a healthy scratch, IMO. Anyone have a rinkside take on the game?

Watched it on TV, UAA didn't even challenge UW. Pathetic performance. The Badgers totally dominated in all facets of the game, and deserved the win. UAA was flat footed and acted like they didn't even care. No motivation whatsoever. :mad: :mad: :mad:

Hopefully UAA puts up more of a fight tomorrow night, if only to stuff it in the UW announcers faces, as they refused to give UAA any credit...even before the puck was dropped. If I were a UAA fan, I would have been annoyed...this UAA team just throttled DU last weekend, and the announcers made it sound like UAA stood no chance at all against UW. Of course, the results of the game certainly made them look correct ( :) ), but I'm hoping UAA proves them wrong tomorrow night.

I was just surprised at the "arrogance". ;)
Most of the FCS announcers are pretty good...Wooger, the crew from DU, etc...they all are biased toward their home team, of course, but not to the level of those two UW guys.

BTW, the UAA announcer, Kurt Haider, calls a great game IMO. I enjoy listening to him during the UAA webcasts...

Back when Talafous was the coach (of course he played for UW), he would get irate at how Wisconsin disrespected UAA.

Kurt Haider is a great announcer, very fair and not a homer. We love him - and he's a great guy too. Glad you enjoyed listening to him. He calls a good game.
