Good close game again. I can honestly say I don't know how we play on the 3rd night. We'll find out. Did 37 and 36 skate on every line tonight? Hope so, feel some weight in those legs tomorrow.

Re: UAA @ UA_ It's Never Too Early to Start The Sports Hate

So this year's series is tied 3 to 3.
A best of 4 couldn't be this exciting!
It's been a great season for both teams and to come down to this is a fitting end.
Sweet for the winning team.
Bitter for the losing team.
I would have preferred to settle it at the final 5 but this provides more head to head games.
It's a new day. And a great day to be a Seawolf!

UAA has done something the last three games that no other team has done in literally months: get us to play their game. They've dictated the tempo and generally uglied everything up. We can win, as we proved last night, but it's not our style. Losing Morley was a major game changer, and losing Campbell was salt on the wound.

The Nanooks had their chances to end this thing tonight, but the bounces went Anchorage's way...I believe we hit the post twice in the 2nd and 3rd, and if those go in it's a 3-2 game and UAA is on the vomit comet back home a day early. If it's another ugly game tomorrow, and I don't know why it wouldn't be, UAA is going to have the upper hand.

Nothing "ugly" about it.
The Seawolves just beat a very good Nanooks team.
It was up and down hockey and the Seawolves were the better team on 3 of the 6 nights.
The Nanooks were the better team on 2 of the 6 nights and lucked out last Thursday night.
Tomorrow night determines the season series.

Go Seawolves!

It's a new day and a great day to be a Seawolf!

UAA hit a post last night as well, which could have been the game winner. Are you saying you got out coached?

Well, it's a possibility. It's not like Thomas has no experience in winning in long series' such as these.

Butterbean had his best players out for most of the third period they were double and triple shifting. They will be tanking early.............. and puking local.....

Re: UAA @ UA_ It's Never Too Early to Start The Sports Hate

There were a few more fans tonight than last night but still not what it should be. No Ice Dogs game tonight, there were a few of them at the games so I think it's a bye weekend. It's spring break for K-12 school as well so that doesn't help the attendance.

Final Score: Alaska Anchorage 2, Alaska 1

Ok, so normally in a Game 3 the WCHA would send new referees. Do we think that'll happen on this short notice?

After we got squashed 7-2, he turned, twisted, and got into their minds... UAA has outplayed UA_ the last 3 games... Shut them down... UA_ benefitted from a shootout, and an OT goal...

I believe the turning point has come...

We still got one more game.

You've hit the nail on the head!
Of course we want a Seawolf victory Saturday night.
However no matter the outcome the Seawolves have proven that over time they will be the prevailing team.

Doesn't really matter.
Win or lose we've turned the corner.
Doesn't matter?!? This next game doesn't matter? WhiskeyTangoFoxtrot are you talking about?!? This game means a lot! Can this program finally win a big game? Can this team finally eliminate Fairbanks? Is this program really a losing program or a winning one?

Very good point, this is essentially an elimination game in a best of 7 game series. Albeit stretched out a bit, which I can only assume favors Thomas even more.

Yeah, there's no secrets now. This series, as it goes on, heads right into Thomas' wheelhouse.

One big thing is that Butterbean has been his top 5 a lot. It may be because of injuries and such but he's having to rely on them too much. Especially in the third last night they looked gassed. With the series being so physical you can't be playing the same guys 35-40 minutes a night. I know you shorten the bench and rely on your top guys in the playoffs but, not that much.

Part of their downfall could bee self inflicted.
