My understanding is that after the NCAA had their balls cut off and stuffed down their throats by the University of North Carolina, that we now get to go back and count all our disputed wins and ties.

Nevertheless, feel free to read the actual infractions. I reviewed and studied them extensively. Here's the relevant snippet from page 17

Pursuant to Division I Bylaws 19.9.7-(g) and 31.2.2.3 and Division II Bylaws 19.5.2-(g) and 31.2.2.4, the institution shall vacate all wins from the regular season and conference tournaments for men's ice hockey

The bylaws define vacating as a subtraction of credited wins from a team or individual statistic or record. It does not produce a change of record for the other teams.

Anyone that has gone to either UAA or UAF in recent history knows exactly how the infractions occurred. Want to change your major? Don't worry about reapplying and paying the registration fee, just enroll in the classes along the guidelines of the program and then just apply for graduation when you complete them. Great advice to a normal student to save money. Not so much for an athlete that has to prove that they are making Satisfsctory Academic Progress toward their declared major. But the athletic department didn't have any staff oversight to know what was going on to correct it. Had paperwork been filled out, this never would have been an issue, which is why everyone was so frustrated that the sanctions penalized the current players that weren't even involved. Parayko's last year would have had us hosting playoffs on the tail of an 8 game unbeaten streak.

When you were doing your counting, it's interesting that you didn't calculate all of the games played in 2014-15, where UAA beat UA_ twice (and also lost twice, THOSE you counted.) And had you gone back just ONE more year, you would see that UAA beat UA_ 3 out of 5 times, including when UAA knocked UA_ out of the playoffs.

I already admitted UA_ has dominated ... but it's funny how you are trying to put your own slant on it by only counting stats for half of one season.

I omitted the first 2 games of the season where uaa swept, that is correct. Why would I bring up a stretch of games where UAF has dominated and start with seawolf wins. What makes the beginning of that stretch even better is all uaa had to do was get a tie and they would have had the cup. Instead the Nanooks won both games and the shootout. We did not dominate the series that season, but how we finished has carried over to the past two seasons.

I was just poking fun. Correct facts are one thing, bias and spin is another. And in the sanction article in particular, both were off a bit. But as we all know, neither paper is really "worth it". In the News-Miner's case, I often wonder if whoever happens to be the latest sports writer watches the same game that I did...

Kylar Hope and Steven Jandric contributed the Nanooks’ other goals and sophomore goaltender Anton Martinsson registered 19 saves in the victory that also gave the Nanooks sole possession of seventh place in the 10-team NCAA Division I conference at 6-11-2 overall and 4-8-1-1 WCHA for 14 points in the standings.

That's poorly worded. Makes it read on first glance that NCAA D1 hockey only has 10 teams... Also, the record is wrong (7-11-2), and the conference record and points are wrong (5-8-1-1, 17 points)

The Seawolves, last in the WCHA (1-10-4, 1-5-3-3), lead the all-time series with the Nanooks at 90-68-12, but the Nanooks are 13-8 in the Governor’s Cup Series since it started.

Nanooks officially now have 14 cup titles---17, 3 vacated. All-time record through this past weekend is now 66-89-12, with the vacated wins removed. Not counting NCAA crap, that's 70-89-12. I don't know why UAA's athletics office had UAF at 66 wins before this weekend, not that I'll complain for the extra 2 on the record. 172 games played total as of today, counting 12/8 and 9 UAF is 66-89-12, with 4 wins vacated.

More importantly -- Nanooks are 13-1-1 vs UAA in the last 15 games played. With a combined score of 47-25 ,or +22 goal differential.
