UAA Seawolves offseason thread- time for change

Re: UAA Seawolves offseason thread- time for change

My opinion...
With the new staff and the new mind set we have a winning situation!
Winning in front of the home town crowd generates enormous impetus for support of those winning.
We may not get "ice" immediately but it will be coming, Olympics or no Olyimpics.
And as long as we have a winning "over .500" team I don't really care where we play.
Other than the terrible glass, I can put up with the rest of the Sully. Just keep after "them" for new glass!
On campus ice is for the team.
It's a GREAT day to be a Seawolf!

"Them" would be the municipality. I don't understand why the Aces management isn't crying foul about the glass!

Re: UAA Seawolves offseason thread- time for change

"the Municipality" ??????
Do you mean the guy who sneaks around with his girlfriend behind his wifes back? Or is he now rubbing his wifes nose in it???
The same guy who diverts money from ice to indoor tennis courts???
Is this the guy you're talking about?

Re: UAA Seawolves offseason thread- time for change

I'm sorry, but like most of the claims you have made about the arena through the years this is laughable.

It is not laughable. Everything Dr Cobb says came true. If you remember, The early rendition of the new facilities on campus was to have both the new hockey arena and basketball arena in the same complex. However, there was oposition on where this facility would be located and Gov Sarah Palin opposed the planning money. So then Dr. Cobb, broke up the facilities to house just the most pressing need first, which is the basketball, volleyball, and the rest of the sports to get them out of the Wells Fargo. So, Dr. Cobb initiated a new arena and proposed to put it on the corner of Elmore and Providence with little opposition. Gov Parnell included planning money and state congress proposed the needed construction monies. It about 50% built as we speak! So, Dr. Cobb made it happen. In addition, Dr. Cobb was working with hockey supporters for the new Ice Arena. Dr. Cobb got it on the new UAA Masterplan to be located on southwest corner of Northern Lights BLvd and Bragraw Street. Talks have been happening about building that arena and what it would look like. This is fact. What is laughable about that???

However, now it is not going to happen, because like I said, one-by-one, the people who supported Cobb have, as we say in the USAF "pulled chalks". So, I have gotten over it. We will have the Sullivan Arena, and I will have to be good with that. At least our Basketball teams, VB team and others will have a nice new home, and will allow us to bid for NCAA Division I.

They don't care for the truth, they only wanted Dr.Cobb fired. Every Alum I have talked about it since it happened has said only 2 words to me about it. .........."Not Me"

This thread is still alive? <a href="http://www.smileyvault.com/" title="shocked"><img src="http://www.smileyvault.com/albums/userpics/12962/shocked.gif" border="0" alt="shocked" title="shocked" /></a>

Man.. someone knock out 94 posts and let them slap that shiny new lock on this thing! Please.

Some of these Cobb comments remind me of the guy you dumped in high school, who years later STILL can't get over it.. <a href="http://www.smileyvault.com/" title="Laughing Smiley"><img src="http://www.smileyvault.com/albums/CBSA/smileyvault-cute-big-smiley-animated-060.gif" border="0" alt="Laughing Smiley" title="Laughing Smiley" /></a>

Move on!

I just ask, how do we know it's never going to be done? I mean, we don't even have an Athletic Director right now. Who knows what happens when the new person comes in. You don't think "what about the hockey team?" Is gonna be the first question that gets asked of that person? It's way too soon to be jumping to conclusions.

I could have that done in a couple of hours but that is a lot of ponies...

I will give you this. We will just have to see what happens. For now, lets just win on the ice. I am ready for both Texas State Football and Seawolf Hockey!

Exactly, jumping to conclusions from anybody is just ridiculous right now.

Re: UAA Seawolves offseason thread- time for change

Found out that new Athletic Director interviews were this week. Should hear something shortly on new UAA AD.

Re: UAA Seawolves offseason thread- time for change

Our guys are starting to trickle in.
The roster and Coach say everyone is returning.
Coach Thomas doesn't have a negative bone in his body and that's sure to transfer to the guys.
The mood of the program appears to be much more upbeat than in years past.
Everything is pointing to a much improved season
It's a great day to be a Seawolf!

Sounds like a good mindset. I heard that coach changed around the locker rooms so that the guys came back to something "new" and fresh.

Re: UAA Seawolves offseason thread- time for change

Hey Seawolfpunk, looks like we've had the change you were looking for.
Considering nuking this thread and starting a new season thread??????????????????????

Re: UAA Seawolves offseason thread- time for change

If they ever change the Sullivan Arena seats, do you think we could get Green seats for the Seawolves or would they go blue seats for the Aces....thoughts?
