UAA @ SCSU: Well Look What We Have Here....

I thought it was just part of the tournament, that if the Gophers were there they play the night game. Is that not the deal anymore?

I don't know it for a fact, but if it was otherwise I am sure someone with some gravitas would have written an article that said it was so. FSNorth pays for the rights to air this tournament and I guarantee the WCHA let them make a rule that let their biggest draw play in primetime. It would be stupid not to.

In other words, the Gophers pay the bills.

Re: UAA @ SCSU: Well Look What We Have Here....

I'll wager a 4-2, 6-1 sweep for SCSU. If anything, we need the sweep to stay away from the bubble line in the PWR. A loss in the FF would hurt a bit (RPI-wise), but not as bad as one to UAA.

Game 2 (and Game 3, which I hope doesn't happen) will be the last game of the season for me. I'll be in Vegas when the FF is going on. That'd be sweet if I could bet on it out there. 500 people at the Mirage sportsbook yelling at 27 giant HDTVs for a 3/14 seed matchup in March Madness, and me yelling at one TV about college hockey :)

You can bet on it out there. And you may find a few other hockey fans out there, also. Saw the Gophs repeat out there. Started with one tv at the bar in the sports book at Mandelay, my buddy and I. Soon, about a dozen other hockey fans were watching with us, and the bar ended up having about 5 tvs on the game. Quite fun.

Re: UAA @ SCSU: Well Look What We Have Here....

We need to win these games for the obvious reasons, but also our Power Play right now is atrocious and has 0 confidence. Would be nice to get that thing figured out before the FF and NCAA tournament. We also need to get Hanowski back playing in good form. He has been a non-factor for a few weeks now. Not sure what is going on with him, but seems like he has heavy legs, which is not a good thing considering he is not a fast skater to begin with. Drew is playing ok but can be better, Same for Dowd. We need some consistent scoring besides Brodzy.

Our loss to AA is one of the biggest reasons we have to share the cup, time to make them pay for their sins.

board was jealous of all the awesome posts I made, so the thread was deleted out of spite.

My guess is someone at USCHO didn't like the posting of a tweet by their Executive Editor Tim M. and his comments regarding the absence of the MacNaughton Cup in connection with SCSU winning the title on Friday.

Good luck trying to find somebody who is interested in college hockey at a Vegas casino sports book lounge. I took my family on Spring Break to Vegas in 2006 and did just that. Found no one interested in college hockey or even a screen dedicated to the game. Probably a blessing as St. Cloud lost to Clarkson (2 - 1) in another NCAA game they were favored to win.

Have a great time in Vegas and wear your Cardinal and Black to the casino. I'm taking my family to San Diego this year and I'm packing my St. C sweater.
