UAA: Patiently Waiting For Next Season, Every Season...

Re: UAA: Patiently Waiting For Next Season, Every Season...

Granted Mantha probably wishes he had a couple of those back, however that last one on him was simply a real nice play on BG part. Manny had no chance on that one. Think the change was made at that time more to give the team a lift than a judgement on his play.
Heck the stops he made earlier were highlights stuff.
Without his play it would have been much worse.

He's playing ok, just think he's being over used IMO.

Man, our players need to get healthy. I don't think they can take any more injuries!

It's a new day and if this team plays true to form we should get a much better result tonight.
It's a great day to be a Seawolf!

So was there an ancient Native burial ground underneath the locker room or something? That's all I can think of to explain the bad luck lately. Between the injuries and the weak goals given up I dunno.

I think it's time to give Mantha a rest. Hopefully the injury bug will end and players will get healthy quickly. Although I think a few will be out for a while. A sweep this weekend is ESSENTIAL!! Unless the guys like playing in an empty arena.

Re: UAA: Patiently Waiting For Next Season, Every Season...

He's a big homer. A red flag for me is when I hear a lot of "we."
Do I enjoy listening to an "away" "homer" announcer?
Not nearly as much as listening to my "non-biased" home team announcer.
Just me, however I see nothing wrong with an announcer being a "homer" as long as he is being paid by the home team.
In the WCHA the home team produces the StretchInternet video and the home team announcer does the audio.
StretchInternet also lets you listen to "your home team announcer". For us David Tuttle.
The Tuttle audio isn't usually in sync with the video but at least he's available.
The good thing is "we" are at home this next weekend so "we" get to watch "our" team live.
It's a great day to be a Seawolf!

Clarification: I'm too much of a cheapskate to go for wcha.tv. For Bowling Green's away games I usually listen to the opponent's radio play-by-play for a different perspective and more knowledge. BG has no commercial radio broadcast for hockey and the radio team is only a notch above the student level. One or both might be students; I don't know the arrangement. There's lots of turnover so the guys don't build up a lot of background on the team or league.

I do expect every broadcast team hired by the home team to be biased. The all say, "[home player] taken down, no call." The Laker guy went beyond that. Bemidji's guys were great. I haven't heard yours; I'm an early-to-bed eastern time zone boy.

Well said, and indeed he did go WAY beyond that. He was offensive and condescending. These guys do need to remember that fans of their teams opponent are also listening to the broadcast. With great guys like Kurt Haider and David Tuttle doing the play by play for UAA, we UAA fans have come to listen to and expect a higher standard.

If the name Evan Pivnick means anything to you after listening to those broadcasts, then yeah, he's either a student or a recent graduate.
