I used to think the 5th Line would help elevate the program. Not so much anymore. All I have seen them do is send out surveys and a mediocre fundraising campaign for an equipment manager. Start a fundraising campaign for a new arena, get the players advocating for the 5th Line, and start to take advantage of NIL.
For god sakes they didn't post anything about the head coach change on their Facebook, which is one of the only platforms that actually sees fan engagement.
That's what I've seen and heard, it probably stems back to the mid 90's. That's when an on campus arena was promised, if I'm wrong I'd like to see if there are any other active Seawolf fans. Man the Don's blog was hopping before he bowed out, soo many fans and support we have lost.

I became a seawolf fan after the revival of the program in 2021. I am actually a Minnesota State University- Mankato alumni. I used to see UAA get smacked before they got kicked out of the WCHA. I needed a team to root for but didn’t want to root for a bandwagon team! I have not been to a game in Anchorage, but it’s on my bucket list to see UAA vs UAF.
yeah I see a lot of comments deleted on social media, this hire doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. I was a huge proponent of Thomas getting hired and we got one good season out of him. This Rud reeks of Talafous, though he did win some Governor's Cups. Rud has over 25 years of experience in college hockey, most recently at St Cloud State where he was an assistant coach. He also spent a few years as an associate head coach at Miami (OH), and as head coach of the St. Cloud state women’s team.
