Re: TV Thread 9: The Walking Dead Americans are completely Justified to be Psyched

Finally got caught up on Breaking Bad this week. All I have to say is . Walt went uber bad-***. Can't wait to see how they wrap things up.

I've been watching the reruns on Sundance on Monday nights, just for the heck of it. Reason I mention this, is I've been catching a few minutes each week of the show "Push Girls" (reality show about women in wheelchairs), and while I won't watch the series, from what I've seen, it doesn't look half bad.

Ink Master starts season 3 tonight at 9:00 CT. I hope this season can live up to the fun of the past two. Watching guys rip apart tattoo artists for work that any on the street would fawn over is something I can really get into. :)

Thanks for the heads up. I totally forgot to check when the new season started.

1. HOW THE F DO YOU ONLY BRING ONE MACHINE?! I hope he's gone. Total flake.
2. The Tatu Baby dynamic should be interesting. She'll get some breaks from the judges (like tonight) because they know her now. But I think there will be points where she'll be overcriticized, because they know what she CAN do.
3. That instigator guy...d-bag. Frankly, if you DON'T learn something in this competition, you will never be Inkmaster. Moron.

I want Maddie La Belle booted early. I know they're making her look worse as the producers need to have a few "bad guys" on the show, but there's something about her that just annoys me.

As for the guy with just one machine (Mystical Matt?), having never gone in for a tattoo, I don't exactly know the significance of that, but based upon the reactions everyone else had to it that's a big thing. The fact that he didn't get kicked off in the first episode has to speak somewhat to his ability. And I liked the blue lion he did.

Suits had its premiere last night...man Harvey is really not a happy camper!

Loved how Donna got Louis with the ink stain and shoulder exercise!

Difference in machines, from wiki:

Tattoo machines are not limited to just these types. A common variant is having a "cutback", which uses stiffer front springs. This is more commonly used in liners, but is known to be used on shader machines, more typically for portrait work. Machines are usually categorized into long stroke and short stroke varieties. The longer-stroked machines are good for coloring and shading, as well as sculpting lines, while doing less damage to clients' skin. Shorter-stroke machines are commonly used for lining in a single pass style, and also in a shader setup to achieve a more subtle gradation of black such as would be found in portraits. Length, width, tension, angle, and stiffness of the spring varies the functionality of the machine. The contact gaps, as well as capacitor's and even the style of machine and its angles of deflection, can also all be variants in machine tuning. The proper tuning of the machine is essential for the type of machine being used, also for the type of tattoo the artist is doing.

I swear it must be mandatory for every industry/profession to have at least a little obvious innuendo in its terminology.

It's true. We sell "nipples."

And one of our former manager's girlfriend (manager's name was Brad), was referred to as a part number (I'll just say 2LG54, as I forgot the actual part number). Why? The part was a "brad nailer." :D

Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series has three ******s from Modern Family, but no Timothy Simons or Jake Johnson? Thanks, I'll pass.

Two of my favorite jokes:
Do you have a favorite character on Game of Thrones? Not anymore.
Why doesn't George RR Martin use Twitter? He killed all 140 characters.

I highly recommend the Netflix series "Orange is the New Black." It's about this woman that has to serve 15 months in prison and has to serve it with her lesbian ex-lover. Worth your time imho.

I just watched that series on Monday/Tuesday. Very interesting (and based on a true story...Piper Kerman). There will be a 2nd season in 2014. I also say its worth the time.
