I hate Pete so much. Watching him fall down the stairs was great. I want to see someone punch him in the face again.

Agreed. With the FIL situation, all he had to say was "I know my past history. That hasn't changed, however, during a past transgression I saw this." I think he would have been at least heard; this is how Roger would have handled that situation. Cite own fault, then attack to make the point.

What Chevy car are they going to adveriste for is a fun question. Some say the next gen Corvette. Some are saying the Camaro since Don mentions something about the answer to the Mustang (though the camaro came out in 66-67...the arguement is that in the Mad Men universe it comes out in 68-69). Others have pointed out that the XP-887 or whatever Roger said is the original code name for the Vega, a car that was awful but went into production in 1970 (Mad Men is in 1968 now). If they go with the Vega route it could add some later drama.

Thought next-gen Vette, but the years I wasn't sure about. If it's the Vega....hoo boy. Hoo. Boy. It could fit in with the downward spiral that Don is seemingly going through. It'd tie the show together (c) Big Lebowski. ;)

C3 Vette was 68-82. So it could fit too. But Im betting Vega for the XP-887 thing.

Since the Vette was '68, and this car is still in production (no pics), I'd say Vega. Unless they go rogue and "invent" a car, but I doubt they'd consider that due to the accuracy of the show so far. IF they take that route, they are nuts.

As is Little Finger. How freaked out would Ros had to have been going into that chamber? She knows what Joffrey is like having been hired out to him once before, and yet she still has to go to him. Granted, she wouldn't have known that she was being sent there for execution like that, but still, she had to have been terrified the whole time leading up to that moment.

The Mentalist is continuing to **** me off with the Red John suspect list. Still a good show but not sure how much more of this I can handle. 7 is way to many for this point in the show. But does anyone remember the guy in the beginning working with the photographer at the murder scene? Is that a new character that immediately makes the suspect list? I don't remember anything about him, so typically in this show's fashion it means he is the killer. They introduce someone in an innocent way and ignore him while the team rules out other options coming full circle back to him. Or has this guy been around and I just don't remember it?

They're milking it. Next year I suspect Red John comes to a close. It will take the entire season for it to happen. Season Finale will be epic. At that point they either try to reinvent something to carry it or maybe contracts are up and it's over.

My fiancee, who works in marketing, pointed out that Campbell-Ewald, which was one of the competing agencies Roger mentioned to Don in the scene at the airport, was the agency that actually did Chevy's marketing (from 1919 until 2010). So Don landing their business is itself historically inaccurate, though I guess that's inherently necessary if you're going to have a real-world company hire a fictional agency to do its marketing.

I enjoyed the way Ygritte said the word "tongue". It made me feel warm and squishy inside. :o

Wild Game of Thrones speculation (with major book spoilers, if you want to avoid that kind of thing):

What if Talisa is basically just a spy for Tywin, planted as a nurse at that battlefield to woo Robb? Perhaps she's even revealed to be Jeyne Westerling? I've had a thought in my head the last few days remembering the way the show portrayed her interacting with those prisoner Lannister boys, and how quickly Tywin found out about the Karstarks abandoning Robb. Is it more interesting for her to be revealed a spy, or to be killed at the RW?

I dont think they would change such a major plot point...havent read the books but did find out about what you're referring to.

Re: TV Thread 9: The Walking Dead Americans are completely Justified to be Psyched

If she is who you speculate she might be, she can't die where you speculate she might die because the character you speculate she is has an ongoing role in the books, no?

Edit to add: I wasn't a big fan of the change from the books with Melisandre having a little trip off to the Riverlands to pick up Gendry. I guess it makes sense so as not to have to have Edric Storm in there (just too many characters, maybe), but still.
