Re: TV: The League Of Anarchy Is A Bunch Of Justified Mad Men

I can't wait to finally watch.... Someday. I missed the first couple episodes and planned on catching up, but then never did.

From the sounds of it though, whenever I finally get around to it, this will be a treat to binge, unlike when I binge the Walking Dead and half the episodes seem like a chore to watch.

Planning on binging BCS. When I decided to pull the trigger the season was more than half over, not worth it.

Re: TV: The League Of Anarchy Is A Bunch Of Justified Mad Men

The South Park ep on Scientology was threatened with lawsuits for a reason. SP even had the flashing "THIS IS WHAT IS ACTUALLY TAUGHT" (paraphrased) at the bottom of the screen. It's that friggin' crazy.

Which is also why Chef was killed off, he left the show because he is a Scientologist.

Brilliant scam...start it off with basic mind and emotional work and tell them the crazy stuff after they have given lots of money and years of their time so they are pot committed. Meanwhile they have confessed all their secrets to you so if you leave the smear campaign is epic. Imagine the things they would say about Cruise and Travolta if they left...

That is indeed the rumor.

Holy smokes. I think Bob Odenkirk and Michael McKean both earned themselves at least an Emmy nom this week. What a fantastic end to BCS.

Agreed. This show is very, very good. I can't believe that it is as good as it is...I didn't expect this. Now that this bomb has dropped, do we see the start of "Saul" in the season finale? Or is that put off further? I think it will be put off, and we'll have Jimmy at least into next season.

Is next week the season finale? I don’t want it to be!!! I have really enjoyed Saul, the character development has been outstanding. Will be interesting to see how it goes from here, this week’s episode was fantastic and worth another watch

Justified:

Holy balls.

Minus the corny Mikey "hold me" quote..what writing! The last couple of eps have elevated this series from "very good" to "great" IMO. One disappointment....I'm thinking Boon is a red herring and/or a paper lion. Stop blueballing the viewer, and have him throw down and see what's what. His character totally intrigues me.

Re: TV: The League Of Anarchy Is A Bunch Of Justified Mad Men

Patton Oswalt sent out a series of 54 tweets mocking those who started trying to shame Comedy Central for their Trevor Noah hire and some of his jokes over the years.

(50/53) Jokes should always entertain. EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO HEARS THEM.

The whole stream is wonderful. As much a joke on the people who get upset by the people who get upset as on the people who get upset. Privilege.

The Americans:

Well....that happened. How they handled it...excellent. And how the aftermath went...very well done. Anyone else starting to feel that Beeman is that sorry loner who has gone the way of pathetic? He's at least on that course. The whole Strato-Matic convo was kind of creepy.

I was going to come into this thread Wednesday night exclaiming that I couldn't believe they killed Paige just to * with you. :)

As for Beeman the Strato-matic converstaion, I didn't get creepy from it, more of a sad man who really misses the family he foresook for his job and some strange, realizing all his job cost him and the mistakes he's made.

I mean creepy like he's trying to replace his son with the Jennings' kid. Kind of becoming a second father to him or something; I think this is plausible given the oft-absent Jennings.

Re: TV: The League Of Anarchy Is A Bunch Of Justified Mad Men

So I was channel surfing yesterday and saw one of the local independent channels was showing the Gilligan's Island episode where The Mosquitos come to the island to get away. Had to catch the end of it. And you know how stations cut these episodes so they can cram more commercials in? Well, one of the things they cut was when the girls sing as The Honeybees, they cut out the section where each one has a solo verse, and just left the choruses in.

And that's the best freakin' part of the episode. When Ginger sings, "like a girl...................needs a boy", that was the stuff that got adolescent hormones percolating. And maybe still post-adolescent.

Cannot believe a station would cut that.

Re: TV: The League Of Anarchy Is A Bunch Of Justified Mad Men

Mad Men: I dunno. Spoilers: Not sure why they're wasting time on Ken's subplot with only a few episodes to go, though the twist at the end was fun. I loved Peggy's date and the morning after; the actress hasn't had a chance to do anything interesting lately, so good for her (though bad that's she's a Scientologist). Roger's stache... he looks like Captain Fcking Kangaroo, please get rid of it immediately. I didn't remember Pete was back in New York -- his ever-receding hairline is a thing of shock and awe. The road not taken theme was hamfisted but I believed it would hit Don like that. Good job all around.

Re: TV: The League Of Anarchy Is A Bunch Of Justified Mad Men

Mad Men: I was underwhelmed (and agree on Roger's appearance). However, first ep of the final season, so I always give a little slack.

Justified: yeahhhhhh baby! Awesome ep. I cannot wait to see the ending, but I want the story to keep going. And my question about Boon was certainly answered. The show needed that answered, IMO.

Re: TV: The League Of Anarchy Is A Bunch Of Justified Mad Men

Jonathan Tucker has been brilliant in that role.

Quite possibly my favorite secondary character in the series. Even better than Sam. And that's saying something.
