Re: TV: The Golden Era Reborn

Real Time can be pretty hit or miss for me (usually both within the same episode) but last night was the best start to finish show in a long, long time. Every guest for me had something intelligent to offer, it was a mostly modest show void of endless hyperbole and the talking points for me were extremely tangible. And I loved his Mars rant which is a topic that has ****ed me off for years.

What are you doing? That's art!
It's a picture a man playing the cello with an erection.
No, it's a man with an erection playing the cello. Watch your modifiers.

Trial and Error has some great lines.

Better Call Saul:

Great ep this week. Some more seeds planted, and some serious growth in the storylines. Double-whammy. Love it.

Re: TV: The Golden Era Reborn

Holy ****. That was an awesome first episode. The air conditioner scene was a thing of beauty. From when she started counting to when the guy said **** it and kicked the dam thing. I'm dying laughing at this point. Then it his him and I have to rewind and rewatch because the dialogue was going to kill me. "Did you see that? Oh my god. Right in the... holy sh_t!!"

This was such a perfect way to start a show like Fargo. The contract bridge thing just, I have no words. It's such a hilarious mindf__k this show.

The thing we should all agree on: we are not units of consumption.

It's a nice ad. It makes me want to nuke the Heineken HQ and their ad agency.

Perhaps kill their children too. Just to be sure.

You and your nukes. Are you overcompensating? :)

Just serve them Genesee.

That's why I clarified that is IS an ad. However, I love the message and the experiment. Heineken is skunk pi*. And that may well be an insult to skunk pi*.

If other attempted revivals of 80s/90s shows are any indicator...pass. I feel a bit bad for John Goodman, the only real actor on that show, if he's a part of this likely crapfest.

I await Twin Peaks, the Continuation with bated breath. I don't have Showtime (or any cable), so at best, I'll be waiting for several months for streaming, but probably DVD.

I'd be interested to see how he could be included if it's supposed to be present day, given his character is supposed to no longer be around.

Legion: Episode 6 is just a whole new level of weird. Sure, I'm following it, but's on a whole new level of weird for TV.
