Started out a little weird, then it picked up. Enough to make me to in to the season premiere in March. As a side note, if Kiefer Sutherland's character was more like Jack Bauer, that child protective services woman would have had her neck broken within the first five minutes. :D

I liked it. I didn't love it. I think there was too much going on. I didn't see how the guy that lost his phone and how it went around the world connected with anything that was going on with Kiefer and his kid and that whole bunch of connections. That said, **** it if I didn't tear up at the end when his kid hugged him and also when the lost phone guy saw the pictures of his daughter on the big screens. I'll definitely pick this back up in two months because, well, Kiefer! Mmmmm, Kiefer. It's just kind of odd that they would premiere this on January 25 and tehn delay the start of the series till march 19th. I get the nightly episodes of Amerinca Idol, but why bother putting it on now?

Technically it was just a pilot. The series premiere is actually on 3/19. I found it weird they didn't premiere it on 3/18, but I digress.

I think the whole side story about the phone served two purposes: To drive home the point that we're all somehow connected and it also served as a hook for the show.

I saw some brief descriptions for the first few episodes of the rest of The Walking Dead's second season. Spoiler: I don't think they're leaving the farm anytime soon.

Watching the first two episodes of Alcatraz on demand. Has a lot of potential to be a good show. Big fan of Sarah Jones. :D

I was quite disappointed in the cancellation of Prime Suspect on NBC. They transplanted that British series to New York City very well. Great cast (Aidan Quinn just nails the squad commander perfectly!), excellent writing, interesting plots...the usual well-done interplay of solving a mystery while developing the relationships among the characters.

I suggest you check it out on hulu or NBC website while you can. It's worth a look.

I missed most of this season.

With Chuck, I was in and out for watching the series. I liked the first two seasons a lot, but it lost me in the third. Then last year I picked up on watching it again, and now this year the Friday Death Spot made me miss all but maybe the first episode. I think I'm going to watch for a box set to be released and then buy the series.

Most of this season should be up on Hulu and I know NBC had all 5 seasons on their web site as part of the finale celebration.

This season was not very good, they lost focus of what made the show great early on. Part of that could be attributed to them never knowing if they were going to get renewed. (fans and critics saved them twice as did Subway and the SUV deal they had in Season 4) The finale though was pitch perfect and the writers should get a ton of credit for that.

I was watching the Battlestar Galactica mini-series from 2003 this morning, and I swear that at about the 14:30-14:45 mark - somewhere in there - they gave a tip of the hat to Firefly because I swear that they show Serenity coming in to dock as they pan by the windows to show Pres. Roslin at the doctor's office.

HBO is re-running the first season of Game of Thrones, setting up season two to start once they're done. Winter is coming.

I agree that this season was all over the place. They seemed to have a new villain of the week which didn't seem to fit a final season of a show. Hearing that they were working from show to show to earn a paycheck makes sense. I hate it when networks can't decide on whether to pull the plug or not. It makes the season at best uneven or at worst a total mess. Kudos for Subway to stepping up to the plate. As much as I hate product placement in a TV show I actually liked the Subway stuff. I was so overt it seemed to a wink and nod to terrible product placement.

Some general thoughts now. I thought last year's finale would have been a perfect ending to the series. However, this season's series finale made up for that. In my opinion Adam Baldwin's character made the show. He played the part of the constipated bad***** to perfection. In one random aside, I thought it was cool that the regular non-speaking characters from the BuyMore finally got something to say in the final episode even if it wasn't anything too exciting. I will miss Chuck, but at least it didn't continue on past it's expiration date like some shows still inexplicably on the air.:)

To be clear, they were not working show to show this season. NBC told them going into this season that it would be their last one. If there was a time for uncertainly to play a role in the decisions the producers/writers made, it would have been seasons 3 and 4 and I think it did. This season they were trying to wrap up all the storylines. If they had had a full season, they were going to bring back Timothy Dalton and Jordana Brewster.

I liked how the show ended generally, though Quinn as a bad guy was disappointing. I thought they would give more closure to Sarah and Chuck, but in reading the comments of the producers they wanted to leave it open to audience interpretation. I do wonder how things would go though, with Chuck having the same intersect that messed with Sarah and Morgan's brains. You're right in that it ended at the right time. A good part of the enjoyment for me stemmed from them keeping it a secret from everyone in their lives. Once everyone knew, it wasn't quite the same. Time to buy the seasons...and that's saying a lot for me who never buys anything on DVD.

Chuck's intersect was not the same, he had the key his father created that allowed for the brain to process the intersect without it destroying your brain. (the 3 pieces Quinn was getting all episode) The finale ended in much the same way the first episode did...Chuck with the intersect and no idea what is coming next, sitting with Sarah on a beach.

And when I said they had no idea if they were getting renewed, I was talking about from Season 2 on. Chuck was always one of the first shows rumored to be on the chopping block, the ratings were never great (not much is on NBC) and I don't think the network quite got it. There were some very vocal critics that always made pleas for the show and the fans really rallied every time the show seemed destined to be taken off the air. Every year though they had to basically assume their season finale could be the series finale and you could tell that was messing with the direction of the show. If NBC had been smart Chuck could have been their Big Bang Theory. NBC though seemed like it couldnt be bothered since it wasnt a dry comedy on Thursday nights...

Chuck losing the intersect was where things started to go down hill. It was great for a while because it made his character valuable beyond being a super computer but at the same time it sort of destroyed the entire point of the story.

Still liking Alcatraz. They are leaving enough mystery to watch the next episode. It was bordering on the standard cop drama this week, until the ending. I think very soon they will have to drop a major bombshell though, even if it's not the season finale.
