What are Alabama Shakes? Sounds like a neurological disorder caused by generations of incest.

It's a band. Three-piece, with a sort of old sound to them, 60's ot 70's in feel, aided by using low-fi recording. A song or two of theirs are doing well on the charts.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

I love that The Americans are tying real life events into the plot, as opposed to a self-contained plot. Really adds to the series.

Makes you wonder how much of the plot is fiction and how much really happened. To most of us Alexander Haig was just a clown who said something stupid, but to the Soviets it most definitely would have looked like a coup, especially given Haig's military background. Fortunately, America isn't like most other countries and we're stable enough to sustain even when the chief executive gets shot.

Alabama Shakes were fantastic, though; Brittany Howard is like a guitar-rocking version of Tina Turner.

I didn't care for the musical guest; Tyler Perry is in enough things already, he doesn't need a band. (I kid, I kid, one of the better performances of the season.)

It's ridiculous that Michael Cudlitz or anyone else involved with Southland never gets any sort of award recognition.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Season finale of Suits was pretty awesome!

I gotta say, Louis is one of my favorite characters at this point. The guy who plays him is just perfect at being both a complete ****** one minute, a sniveling runt the next and a completely caring and compassionate character a few minutes later. He is a great balance for Harvey who is always so stoic.

I think that I need to sit down and watch the winter episodes again, as something just seemed off with this set. I just can't seem to put my finger on exactly what the issue is to me.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Person of Interest continues to amaze me. Last night's episode played like a feature film, maybe one of the Bourne movies but just better. Great guest stars as well, and who can't like Sarah Shahi? This might be my favorite show out there right now.

And Zero Hour did nothing to make me want to stop watching it. Sadly though, I forgot to record The Americans, so I'll have to see if FX is re-running it, or I can find it on demand or the internet someplace.

If you want to stay current with The Americans, use the internet, as I believe FX has it on the "one week and one day" delay for OnDemand. You can buy individual episodes off of Amazon the day after the first airing.

Are you buying eps or something? Or do you have the channel now?

I was just coming here to post how great that episode was.

The ex-wife was played by this girl.

Watching Castle right now.

"What, he's Liam Neeson now?"

"Neeson? He's barely Ashley Judd."

Ha! I'm watching Castle now, too! I kept expecting the dad to be Treat Williams since he was the long last dad in both White Collar and Chicago Fire.

I am fairly new to Justified. Can someone explain why Drew Thompson is so important to so many, and how he could be living hidden in the area he is from even if he was gone for thirty years?

And did anyone else notice Zygi Wilf in the lineup his wife was looking at? :D

He shot the Dixie Mafia's boss and stole a ton of drugs from him which ****ed off a lot of other guys. So it's a little bit personal.
