While it makes sense that Tyreese and co. would have taken off, it is REALLY bad storytelling when Kirkman needs to explain it on Talking Dead.

It was pretty plain in the episode, as they slunk out of the prison, but most everyone was watching Rick's meltdown. There was no close-up of the group leaving.

Seriously, I enjoyed the mix of "movie" and documentary. Now I might have to read O'Reilly's book and Killing Kennedy too.

Sorry for the typo - I still wonder why the South had 8 assassination plans, but never carried through with them? It would of been a game changer if done early in the war.

A bigger hole in the plot is Michonne.

When we left her at the end of the last episode, she was locked in a cell while recovering. She was to be booted out once fit enough.

Then in the most recent she's got free run of the place and is in on group discussions.


I realize that the leap can be made that with Rick "wandering crazy town" the others decided to let her out.

Was never explained at all on camera though. Either way I like it coz her cruising through the high grass with the katana was sweet.

That's what's bothering me about some of this stuff: it's not addressed on camera. See also, how Tyreese's group was snuck out in the middle of Rick's freakout (per Priceless' post above).

on the other hand, it is nice to have a show that treats the audience as though we have some intelligence and can figure things out without having our hands held.

I saw them walking out. They picked up their bags and went up the steps to the left.

Assumed they were heading for higher ground... OUTSIDE of the prison.

That's been how I have tolerated Doctor Who for over 24 years. "Yeah, that just happened. And after 49 years of continuity, we will not tell you how. It's a Time Lord. Deal".

Martin Freeman confirmed that Sherlock will resume production in March. That puts Fall as a target for new episodes to be released.

Anybody watching The Following? I record it so I can speed past the 8 minute blocks of commercials...this week's episode fails due to the ridiculously trite "I'm goin in for a closer look even though backup isn't here yet", "I'm goin into the house even though they just killed the only guy with me and backup will be here in 2 minutes" AND the "I know I shouldn't ditch the FBI and go meet my manipulative husband's cult member who demands I come alone but I'll do it anyway"...I found the previous episodes to be watchable and the premise satisfactory...this week it felt more like an episode of a bad prime time PI show.

I have it on DVR and have only watched the 1st ep. My wife and I liked it enough to try some more. Wow does Kevin Bacon look gaunt.

I've been watching it. Kinda gruesome but it is kinda intriguing so I still watch. I was impressed with little Joey. He was pretty smart for someone his age.

Like you, I found the pilot to be interesting enough that I've managed to see the other episodes. I like some of the twists etc. but last night was the first "really!?!?!?" episode for me. Ditto for the lawyer...a little too far fetched.

I watch ~2 hours of TV a week (other than sports) and right now this is one of the 2 hours (along with Walking Dead) - I like the lighter, fluffier fare! - I recorded the Americans and Following and so far only the Following got past the pilot.

I love that The Americans are tying real life events into the plot, as opposed to a self-contained plot. Really adds to the series.

Yep, watching it. I think my opinions are much the same as others that have commented. This last episode just didn't sit well with me. The ex-wife going off by herself bugged me more than Kevin Bacon's stupidity going into the house without backup. Hopefully there won't be anymore episodes like that one, since the rest of them have been pretty dang good.

As for The Americans, its ok. I'm not really into it, but I'm still watching. It just doesn't match up to the other series I've been watching lately: Justified, Game of Thrones (via HBO GO), The Walking Dead, The Following, etc.

The internet filtering policy at my office makes me wonder sometimes. Mostly it makes sense, but today it let me go to the TNT network's site as my buddy and I were talking about the show Southland, but it I couldn't get onto the FX site to see something about The Americans, and in the case of FX, it's the entire network's site that's blocked and not just a show or the VOD links.

SNL tonight is Christoph Waltz with musical guest Alabama Shakes. I will be watching a full SNL for the first time in years.

This episode was a big letdown, IMO; I think Waltz is a fantastic actor and had high hopes but I thought it was a terrible episode other than the cold open and Update, neither of which featured Waltz. The monologue was especially bad. Alabama Shakes were fantastic, though; Brittany Howard is like a guitar-rocking version of Tina Turner.

I really enjoyed the mini-Lost reunion on Californication on Sunday.
