TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

No mention of The Office officially ending after this season? I'm surprised.

'Officially' is the key word. That show has been very, very bad for a few years now, and a nuclear disaster once Steve Carrell left.

The main thrust, the criticism of current "news" (read: pablum by idiots, of idiots, and for idiots), is on point.

It's so simple. All the media needs to do to be right is wait 8 months to report on things and ignore/eliminate any remotely coherent opposing opinions. Shame on CNN for not reporting on the gulf oil spill the night it happened. A REAL news organization has journalists who conveniently have a 23 year old former roommate that sits in on upper executive meetings at one of the largest corporations in the world AND a sister that works extremely high up in the government. Wake up, sheeple!

Seriously, that show is beyond awful.

If I had to pick the best shows on TV right now(that I'm watching):

1. Mad Men
2. Breaking Bad
3. Archer
4. Veep--I finally caught up on it and my concerns of it not living up to the Thick of It are gone.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

I love how on white collar this week when Mozzie is naming off questionable government programs he mentions "Stargate". Willie Garson had a recurring character on that show and I am just geeky enough to remember that :D

Hey now, I agree it is hysterically funny that everybody on the show has ESP. "The president called a news conference? We must have killed bin Laden!"

One show I left off my list: Justified. That belongs up there too.

1. Breaking Bad
2. Sons of Anarchy
3. Californication
4. The Walking Dead
5. Justified
6. Dexter

Great episode all around. A bit of a National Treasure caper.

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

1) Burn Notice
2) Breaking Bad
3) Sons of Anarchy
4) Californication
5) The Glades

Honarable Mention: Franklin & Bash, Leverage, White Collar, Suits, Hawaii Five-0

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

I have just recently started watching Burn Notice. Awesome.

Not sure why it took me so long to come around. I knew that Bruce Campbell is in it, and I also knew that Bruce Campbell is the effing man.

OK, so admitedly so, I watch way too much TV, and a lot of it is not that great and some of it I watch for the eye candy. While I watch most of the shows listed here, I would never include Franklin & Bash, Leverage, The Glades (which was really bad this year) or even Hawaii Five-0, which is basically hot men and location porn on any best shows list. For me anyways.

No love for Rizzoli and Isles? Covert Affairs? :p

Apparently Kepler isn't the only one with bad taste in TV around here. :o

With all I've heard about Breaking Bad for so long, I may look at picking up the series on Blu-Ray. I've also heard good things about Louie.

As for Newsroom, it sounds exactly like an Aaron Sorkin project. It's surprising how his TV show's about TV shows always struggle for ratings, yet West Wing followed the same formula to such critical praise.

Burn Notice: WOW. Card may not have been working for Anson, but I wasn't expecting THAT. Can't wait til November!

Re: TV Shows Part 8: Cancel THIS.

Why do you hate America? :p
My enjoyment of AMC makes up for my dislike for all of the USA network shows. :p

I actually have one on DVR, Covert Affairs, but it just isn't very good, so if I do watch it, it is just on in the background as I work on the computer. I have given several others (Suits, White Collar, that one with the football pychiatrist, the rich people's doctor show) a chance, and the only one that I really like is Pysch. That show is great, the rest didn't hook me at all.
