It would be funny if Marshal gave it to Ted since Barney wouldn't expect that.

I found the ending kind of dumb...didnt we already do the "It is weird that Robin hangs with her two boyfriends" crap when she was dating Don? Now we are going to do it from Ted's perspective...yawn. The episode was good up until then though.

Katie Holmes is playing the Slutty Pumpkin? Interesting though I am not sure we needed that particular storyline finished...

I agree the last slap will probably be at Barney's wedding...or at Teds as part of his best mans speech :)

From the point of Ted returning to being a "romantic" we do. He'll go as the Hanging Chad and meet Slutty Pumpking on the roof at the party and might last 2 episodes after that.

Most of the series is filler, when you think about it. In fact, the vast majority of the series is filler. We've gone 7 seasons with very little to indicate who the mother is, the Marshall and Lily storyline has moved at a snail's pace and so on.

At this point, the reason to watch the show isn't necessarily to expect the show to go anywhere, or for Ted to stop being such an emo dweeb, but the characters are so well defined and play off of each other so well, that its worth checking in just to see what they're up to. This week was a perfect example: one storyline about how we're really going nowhere with the whole mother angle, and another about how Barney likes to mess with Lily and Marshall. I'll be honest, I wouldn't enjoy this show so much if it was really all about the former and had none of the latter.

Yes I agree...I just think the Slutty Pumpkin storyline is one that didn't need rehashing. We already know Ted is a lame dweeb that believes in fate we dont need to see them bring back another chick from his past who isnt the mother just so we know how romantic he is. What is next, Stella gets divorced and bumps into Ted at a restaurant? ;)

There is filler and there is "we dont have any other stories so...uhhh...what did we do in season 1 that people thought was cute?"

Continuing this arc:

1. Some of the SAMTAZ members are clearly mixed heritage.
2. Preview for next week indicates that this odd twist with Juice is going to go somewhere ::rolleyes::
3. Somewhat related: Someone finally found out about Bobby and Luann, and now it's going to be used to try to get Otto to talk. My guess is that won't work.
4. Murdered members, people leaving the club, drug deals done before a vote, affairs... Tuscon sure is conveniently mirroring all of SAMCRO's issues. Part of me expected to see an old guy in SAMTAZ with an oxygen tank.

Also, Victoria and Slutty Pumpkin could be considered "loose ends" in that they were out there and there was never really a good reason why they weren't "the one" for Ted. They wouldn't have to do that, but this way, when Ted finally meets the mother, nobody can say, "Yeah, but what about..."

Nice! Although I don't like the show enough to buy a shirt. ;)

Although I DID have an old-fashioned at a bar this past weekend. It was a martini bar connected to the hotel we were at, and we just wanted a last call before calling it a night. It was tasty.

It was definitely funny in a very weird, absurd way, but it really felt like they could never quite make the jump just from riffing on a fairly easy target to coming up with an actual story that could have made it a great episode. It felt like all five main characters got stuck with a weak C-plot that didn't really go anywhere this week.

The finale of the Archer mini-season or whatever was absolutely hilarious. How to Be A Gentleman actually exceeded my low expectations. Whitney was much worse than my already low expectations.

I actually thought Sunny was pretty funny in addition to being weird. Some of the best Sunny episodes come from the gang trying to put on a show.

Still: The Archer mini-season was brilliant.

Almost as good as getting a new episode tonight is the fact that last week's episode goes up OnDemand now. I love the idea that life is actually pretty good for Charlie whenever he leaves Philly.

If Sunny is unwatchable, then there isn't another comedy on TV worth watching either.
