Double Dare and Super sloppy Doble Dare ruled. Anyone remember the show Fun House with JD Roth? I loved that show.

Re: TV Shows 6: Abed and Troy in the Morning! Havvveeee you met Ted's Wife yet?

I played outside a lot...

You Cant Do That on Television was a different era than Hey Dude and Salute Your Shorts. YCDTOT was a Canadian Sketch show. (Alanis Morisette got her start here) Hey Dude was about a touristy dude ranch in I believe Arizona. (Christine Taylor, Ben Stillers wife who was in Dodgeball and Zoolander got her start there) Salute Your Shorts was about a summer camp...the star was the redheaded kid who was on the later seasons of Different Strokes. (and was John Conners friend in T2)

edit: Super Sloppy Double Dare was awesome! So was What Would You Do which was like a decade before Fear Factor and with kids :D

I wish MTV would replay Remote Control...best. gameshow.EVER!

With no mention of Pete and Pete, you all fail miserably at life.

Oh lord I forgot that show

Nickelodeon was awesome...kids shows during the day, then old sitcoms at night! I wish they would bring back the old Nick at Nite!

I'm enjoying it for the Ren and Stimpy reruns, personally.

Re: TV Shows 6: Abed and Troy in the Morning! Havvveeee you met Ted's Wife yet?

Did you get nickelodeon as a kid?
No. We got a satellite dish when I was about 16 years old.

I did spend a bunch of time outside. I rode 4-wheeler (well, 3 wheeler for the first 5 years or so) practically every day since I turned 7 years old. Between that, farm work, and working with the show steers/heifers, I didn't do much inside stuff. Winter was a bit different, stayed inside more, except for going snowmobiling and daily chores.

What was that game show on Nick where they had kids playing arcade games?

So... if I happen to have an Amazon Gift Card that I received as a birthday gift, would you recommend a purchase of one of the seasons?

YES. And IIRC, Season 1&2 are packaged together. So you'll be more than hooked and will just have to buy season 3. :D

I've only seen season 1 disc 1, and while it's a good show, I still don't understand the obsession.

I'm curious if any of the other Top Gear fans have been watching Top Gear USA.

It's growing on me. I have to admit watching them dump manure all over San Antonio made me laugh.

I watch it and have seen most of the episodes. Im not really into cars or anything so its mostly those kind of antics and challenges that keep me watching.

It's one of the rare shows that ups the ante with darn near every episode. It took until probably the first few eps of Season 2 before I became OMGAWESOME*INGSHOW. And Season 3 just made me become full-on "Must. Watch. Leave. Me. Alone."

Edit: Am down to the last 2 eps of the X-Files series (the last two seasons I maybe watched 2-3 eps total in season 8, missed the 9th altogether). Wow, did that show's writing tank. Although I do like me some Annabeth Gish (also in the TV series "Brotherhood" and the movie "SLC Punk.")

It'll be interesting to see how it officially ends.

That show had quite a few future stars on it, and some people that never really made it as big as they should have.

Either way, Remote Control was awesome. Pure awesome.

And people like Colin Quinn who never should have been as big as they were.

EDIT: And I'd give Breaking Bad through the end of Season 1 before making a judgement. The first season is a little too Dukes of Hazzard "How them boys gunna get out of this one?" It's also a show that has to build tension and can't be explosions and excitement for 500+ minutes a season, so it can be slow at times, but if you stick with it long enough, it builds enough layers that even very slow episodes like this past weeks are at least watchable.

I still don't put Breaking Bad ahead of Mad Men as far as best of all-time, but you definitely won't regret the time spent if you watch all of BB.
