TV, or not TV, that is the question

Re: TV, or not TV, that is the question

Continuing on to Season 2 of Departures on Netflix. Big mistake - I am officially jealous of these guys. :p

Re: TV, or not TV, that is the question

Trying to watch Grimm season's premiere on Hulu and they're making the experience extremely unimpressive. Same with trying to watch Last Man on Earth earlier. If this keeps up, I'm dropping it. So very unimpressed with the service lately.

Finished up AHS Freak Show.

Really liked the season. The ending was okay, it didn't wow me. It made a lot of sense, it wasn't some crazy off-the-wall ending, like I half-expected. The season itself roared, and ended with a bit of a whimper.

I didn't have any issues streaming Grimm. What's going on?

Grimm kept buffering, especially early in the show, and then a couple times as it progressed. Last Man Standing just outright failed after about two minutes of content streamed. I switched over to streaming a show from Amazon Prime using the same device and it worked without incident.

It might be my ISP, though I doubt it. I've had intermittent issues with them in the past - actually on my fourth modem that they provided me since the start of the year. Still, given what I was able to do with Amazon, it seems more like a content provider issue.

Just finished the entirety of The West Wing. I loved it, found it moving. Sadly, I feel more passionately about those characters than I have about any politician.

Great show. I started watching it when I was laid off in 2003 and still trying to find work (small recession that year).

You likely feel more passionate about those characters than you do real pols because real pols don't have their lives laid out to bear with a sympathetic eye for all to see over the course of seven years. ;)

Re: TV, or not TV, that is the question

Tongue in cheek, I'm sure, but those characters also weren't callous *****s whose only concern was how much power and money they could accrue for themselves.

Still had its highs and lows. Could definitely tell when Sorkin left, and the last couple of seasons had more than their fair share of jump the shark moments.

That said, the first 3-4 seasons I'd put up against almost any other show for the gold standard of television.

As long as Trace Beaulieu signs on too. Crow just didn't sound right with Bill Corbett doing him, and just took away my enjoyment of the show. Cause Crow is the balls.

On another note, Curse of Oak Island is back, and the first episode was pretty damm good

Re: TV, or not TV, that is the question

We also need Trace for Dr. Forrester.

I wonder if it will be Mike and Joel together.

Frank Conniff probably aint busy.

Re: TV, or not TV, that is the question

We do need most of the original crew back. I liked both Mike and Joel, so I've got no preference. Have to have Kevin as Servo back at least. Bring it on, I say.

Its about **** time. That is the most frustrating show on TV. I think all of us want to know and they finally did something that shows positive results and could be legit.

Re: TV, or not TV, that is the question

Super Girl pilot was promising, though pretty obvious. Allowing for the fact that unless you are a 20-something woman you are not their target demo, it's still worth a look.

Re: TV, or not TV, that is the question

Jeffrey Dean Morgan joins the cast of The Walking Dead as the character Negan. For those that read the comics, things are about to get nuts.

But now they'll spend the rest of the season digging up all those spots where the MRI detected treasure, probably with little success, and not get back to !0-x until the last episode of the season.

no, they'll show us 10x every episode with them taking out a little bit of debris each week.
