Re: TV: One Person's Trash...

It maybe wasn't an ad, but it was certainly a bit of a puff piece.

Anyone who knows Mayo or who has had anything to do with them from a business standpoint understands that they control the narrative in all respects. There would be no appearances by any Mayo employee without a chance to control it ahead of time. That's just the way they operate, because they can.

I'm sure that is true. I also don't think someone with the reputation of Ken Burns would put his name on a documentary if he didn't think it was an accurate portrayal.

They also didn't avoid some of the bad things. They show one lady that they turned away due to insurance issues, and talk about how that is not true to their original values. They also discuss their racist past, when they did not allow minority doctors to practice there.

Bill Maher sometimes loses me as he did a bit with some of his questions in the opening segment, but on the whole Real Time just killed it last night. Great show.

Moby was fantastic. Very interesting. I didn’t know he was so funny.

OMG No Rules was ****ing great. I almost p-ssed myself watching moby.

That was the first episode I watched. It was a very double-you tee eff experience for me, but I will go back to the beginning now.

It’s a good show. This last episode was unlike anything I’ve seen on tv in some time. The fight sequences....
Hader directed this episode too

I wonder if Donald knows he had the flaccid knob rubbed on him?
Been a long time since I’ve heard it called a knob! Good ole Brits

I finally caught a couple of episodes of Letterkenny (metered internet at home sucks). It caused me to chuckle merrily several times.

New Rules. It was great; the whole episode was great except Insley should be prescribed for chronic insomniacs.

I like that he's mostly stopped with the righty apologist in the middle seat. That never accomplished anything. Have a righty on as the first guest if you want, but I don't need to listen to lies and dodges all through the show.

Re: TV: One Person's Trash...

Norah O’Donnell moving to CBS Evening News and John Dickerson moving to 60 Minutes.

Gayle King, Anthony Mason, and Tony Dakoupil taking over the morning show. I’m going to miss Norah and John. They were brilliant at that show and brought a lot of gravitas to a format that is often useless.

Re: TV: One Person's Trash...

Queen Of The South S3 is now streaming on Netflix. Pretty racy for a USA show, tame for an FX show, but I am loving it. The character development is solid, the story is very entertaining. Haven't researched to how close to the truth this is, but frankly, no matter. It's worth my time. Strangely enough, Pote's character almost seems to be the most complex, as simple as it is. The hints throughout the series really gives his character some serious layers.

Re: TV: One Person's Trash...

Huh.

Note: since that story, which was a year ago and talked about a story first announced a year before that, there has been no update. Harmon was profiled a while back about the coming of Rick & Morty S4, and it was not mentioned.

So...

This is funny because Sirens of Titan was originally purchased to be a movie (by, of all people, Jerry Garcia) and then stuck in Production Hell for decades. Maybe it's just cursed.

Dynasties is a 5-parts documentary put out by BBC America and narrated by Sir David Attenborough. I've seen the first 3(Lion, Chimpanzee, Tiger)and they were very well done. Lucking I taped them because it seems to me commercials are 2-1 compared to shows over here.
