Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

Black mirror is great.

I decided to give it a go based on this.

The first episode was... I'm not sure how I feel about it. I didn't know if I was watching a new drama or comedy. It was much worse and so much better.

I don't know if I could watch more than a few episodes at a time. It's majorly f_cked.

S1 Ep 2 (about the exercycles) is my favorite of the show so far.

San Junipero is my favorite, then probably White Bear.

I didn't like Waldo at first, sadly because I felt it was unrealistic, but given the events that have unfolded I should probably go back and watch.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

Dr. Mrs. and I watched the Netflix series Medici: Masters of Florence during our vacation. I recommend it for the laughs -- it is unintentionally very funny. Everybody is super hot and they plot their geopolitics with all the subtlety and nuance of a sorority. Netflix also watched enough HBO to realize that period dramas must include many boobies, but because it's Florence and Donatello is running around you get a fair amount of Renaissance man meat as well.

I also picked up Dark Matter and am 5 episodes in. It's the next best thing to just bringing back Firefly.

I finished watching the two seasons of Dark Matter on Netflix this past month. The show was completely new to me, then I recognized the actress who plays Android from the show Lost Girl and realized that the show is a Canadian production, probably made for Canadian broadcast. The production value shows at times, but it's mostly fun if not entirely original. Season two ended with me wanting to see what happens in season three.

If you've not seen Lost Girl, it's a monsters, fairies and gods show (all combined under the term "fae"), and it's hyper sexualized.

Dark Matter runs on Syfy but yes, its much like Continuum, with its Canadian production and original run in Canada. I have really enjoyed Dark Matter so far...hopefully it doesn't jump the shark any time soon, while I really enjoyed the first half or so of Continuum, it eventually got a little too weird but I guess it did redeem itself at the end.

Re: TV: Give Me That Remote!

Haha. Go figure. A few weeks back I thought you and NYC had similar posting styles. Didn't think you were on USCHO.

Basically I took a break because I was done with the inane bickering about Minnesota sports, among other things. I knew I'd get sucked back in if I was reading or posting in other threads. The break has turned into something a little longer than I figured. A couple people have asked me if it's a bit, but I never intended for it to become a thing.

I kind of like the sports talk on here when I stay out of the hockey side. Most people don't take the individual sports teams too seriously. But more so I wanted a place to talk politics and vent. Even though things get personal or snarky :o, I think it generally stays civil. USCHO is like a liberal GPL that doesn't take things so seriously. :D

I'll probably give up and start posting again at some point.

I get it. There are some people on gpl that scream trump fans and it's aggrivating.
Back to tv- watching breaking bad marathon again and getting sucked in again. It never gets old.
