I think that’s why game of thrones is so jarring and amazing. Their universe doesn’t reward good behavior and it sadistically punishes naïveté.

Same with Breaking Bad, Sons, Wire...it's part of what rejuvenated pro wrestling when they had Stone Cold and such. The anti-heroes are rewarded. They are not good people, but you root for them.

Re: TV: Did you make Barry's List?

You've never seen a plot where the bad guy takes someone close to one of the heroes and uses that as leverage against them to get what he wants? Even the misdirection where they only end up with the truck full of girls(or whatever) has been done a million times.

And then, our hero faces the big dilemma. Do they arrest the bad guy, or kill them in revenge for the evil perpetrated against them? Of course, good triumphs in the end, only to have the bad guy go for the good guy's weapon so our hero has no choice but to kill them.

Please. That's derivative of derivatives.

Everything is derivative. There's nothing new in this world.

And per Stone Cold, idiot guy stumbles into success in spite of himself.

(Talking about Vince BTW and not Austin)

Pretty much. I mean, with Sons, Tig became a fave character, and he was the most degenerate of them all! :D There was a shirt that said "Tig Is My Moral Compass." SO many ways of wrong. :D

Dark Tourist on Netflix is interesting. I haven’t seen them all yet but so far the Medellin episode with the Escobar stuff was the most interesting

I'm eyeing that series. Not really into the whole death stuff, but now you've piqued my curiosity with the mention of Medillin.....

Re: TV: Did you make Barry's List?

New Last Chance U season is another good one. New school, but same format and a coach with even bigger personality issues. Might be their best season production-wise, especially an episode mid-season that switches up the usual format and starts with the game while splicing player and coach backgrounds.

There's also a bonus episode at the end following up with the bigger stars of East Mississippi.

The Japan episode was interesting, especially the first part traveling around the Fukushima site. It's pretty eerie to see entire towns still closed off due to high radiation. Japan's version of Chernobyl.

Watched the Medellin ep, the Muerte part was the most interesting, the Pablo stuff was nothing new for me. The Japan ep, I agree. That was eerie. Skipped the Dahmer ep (zero interest), halfway through the Stans ep. It's meh so far.

Better Call Saul starts next weekend, and the Mayans are coming. I am drooling waiting for these shows.....

Sharp Objects is phenomenal.

After arrival and this, Amy Adams needs to swear off everything but dramas from here on out.
