Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

All cable networks you receive that are not available through an antenna are subscription based and therefore not subject to the FCC's rules. Most cable networks follow the FCC as a general guideline in an effort to not have viewers request to no longer receive that station.

And please, let's keep it that way.

Comedy Central's Midnight Vault is a product of that little tidbit. :)

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

Did anyone watch America's Next Top Model? And hear why one contestant wouldn't date a white guy? I'm still amazed that that was included w/o even any bleeping. I know it isn't on one of the 3 main networks, but it isn't exactly on paid cable and it was on at 8 pm.

Did it have anything to do with the size of something?

color, naming that something, and what that reminded her of which the judges then all repeated. Y'all have explained how they get away with it, but seriously, why they'd include it escapes me unless their ratings have tanked recently and this is what they are going to try. It was inappropriate for kids which make up a chunk of their audience (something they even discussed as far as how young the current contestants were when they first watched the show).

You're allowed to say "*****" in primetime. *****, *****, *****. You're even allowed to compare it to pink, raw meat.

ANTM was weird. 2 episodes in and they'll already have done makeover and nude photoshoot. I mean, what else is there but the Covergirl commercial?

I never before saw how much Perez Hilton looks like Moose from the Archies.

This will continue to happen so long as Pictionary insists on including the word "windmill". :D

(Or something similar, I watched it last night.)

My roommate and I didn't stop laughing for five minutes after that scene.

Also, who was the blonde cameo? I know she looks familiar but couldn't place a name to the face?

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

That was McPhee...holy crap she looks different!

I watched last weeks office figuring they couldnt screw up a birthing episode...wow epic fail :(

Psych Finale = 1 part cool, 2 parts AWESOME! :D

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

I really enjoyed the first half of SNL tonight. I thought Weekend Update was great.

And the Prius commercial was really good too. :)

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

Those of us with DirecTV, the 101 network is showing the first episode of HBO's "The Pacific" at 10pm ET.

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

Anyone seen previews for the new FX series Justified? Here is the synopsis from imdb:

U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) is a modern day 19th century-style lawman, enforcing his brand of justice in a way that puts a target on his back with criminals and places him at odds with his bosses in the Marshal service. That conflict results in a reassignment for Givens to the U.S. District covering the town where he grew up. He is an anachronism - a tough, soft spoken gentleman who finds his quarry fascinating, but never gives an inch. Dig under his placid skin and you'll find an angry man who grew up hard in rural Kentucky, with an outlaw father, who knows a lot more about who he doesn't want to be than who he really is.

Olyphant was excellent in Deadwood (an amazing series that ended too soon). Hopefully this one will be good as well. I plan on watching it.

Re: TV 4 - Renewed for another thread!!!

It may be a while before Im able to see any episodes of The Pacific. Does anyone have a website they trust to go and watch episodes? I am watching episode one on HBOs website but dont know if they will make them all available.

Can I make a small request that if anyone does decide to discuss the series they do so in another thread so its not spoiled for those of us that may not get the chance to see it right away?

Edit: Tried watching it on HBOs website but it was really choppy for some reason. May give it another shot later...
