TV chatter continues here!

Next week, starting tomorrow, will be crazy for me because all shows will be back. Lots of conflicting programming.

My Golden Globes commentary will be in this thread. Ricky Gervais is hosting. should be fun!

Comedy Central has to outbid Fox for Conan's services. This week has shown how funny he can be, but he won't be as unrestrained on network TV when he actually cares. Get him on Comedy Central with Stewart and Colbert and all bets are off. They'd also have a late night lineup to rival any of the networks.

When signing off for the show, his sign off made it sound like he's going to have new shows next week. Or was he just saying some lines out of habit?

He's supposed to have new shows next week, but will NBC brass continue to let him blast them? As I said before, they've got to be torn...the ratings are through the roof but he's getting them by destroying NBC and Leno...it's an interesting paradigm.

Well they're being short-sighted in letting him go so I'm sure they'll be short-sighted and eat up the ratings while Conan sets fire to the place on the way out.

I doubt it. I have a feeling Conan will not be allowed on site Monday morning. Noon, he'll be escorted to his office by security, pack and be shown the front gate.

Missed the show last night, so i'll need to look it up on Hulu.

Conan already had a shootout with security, so you're probably right.

Anybody been watching Dollhouse while Fox has been burning off the final episodes? It's gotten really good, and if it had been this good during its first season, maybe it just might not have gotten cancelled.

I worked 3 years in a pawn shop...why would I want to watch a 'reality show" about it?

I don't know, and don't really care. :p

I just like seeing some of the odd stuff that comes in. The "backstories" don't really interest me that much at all.

Maybe some of us enjoy seeing the odd things that come in there. And I'm guessing in your 3 years working in a pawn shop you didn't see some of the outlandish things they have.

Dude pawned his truck. And by truck I mean big rig. Probably don't see that every day.

This is exactly why I like the show... My grandparents are all about antiquing, so I have a little exposure to the whole "hidden treasure" thing... It's pretty cool if that kind of thing interests you... A lot of the items that come on shows like this tend to be small, forgotten bits of history and culture... It's great if you are a pop culture buff as well...

I also love the people that come in and totally think they have something good and it turns out to be nothing, like the "Indiana Jones" whip...

I also love the people when they find out how much their item would auction for or retail for ask for immediately that much. It's like........ummmmm......guy's not paying you retail price just so he can NOT make a profit off it. Have you never learned how a pawn shop works? :rolleyes:

So I had only seen one episode of Community a while back on TV (the halloween one). I finally took the time to go to hulu and watch the whole season so far (nice that they had all of them). Definetly a good show and one I will continue to watch.

If not, does anyone know why when Community, Parks and Rec, and 30 rock were all new?
