Well that's obvious...the story isn't about how he met their mother, the story about asking his kids permission to move on from the love of his life that's been gone 6 years and give it another go with Robin...It makes way more sense now why he told the story this way doesn't it?
True.I am not upset in the least bit by the ending of HIMYM..it made sense completely. I think people were gonna be mad no matter how the ending went.
I thought Burn Notice did a wonderful job with their ending...I gotta say, it is fun to watch people get upset over fictional characters though.
To address some points though:
Why would we get all that time to deal with the mother dying. The point is Ted is telling the story to his kids, they know their mom died and how it happened. he is not going to spend a ton of time on that part of the story because they were there. They wanted to know how he came to meet her. Seeing as almost every important point in the story involved Robin and how they each felt about each other the kids got how he felt.
As for Barney reverting back to his old self, that is pretty common after a divorce. He completely remade himself to be the perfect man for Robin and it still wasnt good enough. He is at his best when he has someone to inspire to be that way and his daughter finally did it for good.
The ending wasnt perfect (Psych is the only perfect ending I have seen in a long time) but I thought it wrapped it up well and was consistent with the whole point of the show.
The sad part is all of my favorites have ended or will end soon except for Suits. EDIT: and Royal PainsYeah I forgot that one...that was a very very good ending. USA shows do it right![]()

They had a great run...starting with Monk, The Dead Zone, Psych, Burn Notice, Royal Pains, White Collar, Suits...too bad it doesn't seem like there is much left. I've never gotten into Graceland and gave up on Covert Affairs. I might have to give Sirens a try...Royal Pains has to be getting close to the cut line just like White Collar. Sad cause both are good shows and USA has nothing that looks interesting coming up.

I did like Fairly Legal, but that probably has more to do with Sarah Shahi than the show itself...

It would appear that being Boyd Crowder's #2 (or so) continues to be something of a cursed position.
I'm a few episodes behind. I missed one a few weeks ago while being busy with other things and because of FX's asinine streaming rules, I can't get caught up to the current week.Indeed.
And The Americans got kinda awkward towards the end last night. "Be Clark." /okthatturnedweird

I thought they changed those?
