Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Finally got to see the True Detective finale.. That was fantastic. I don't see how this won't just dominate the next awards season. Only question will be who gets nominated/chosen for best actor. I'd give the edge to McConaughey, but that's not to say Harrelson wouldn't be deserving.

They're going to roll the emmys because it will be entered as an anthology/miniseries. It will be going against the likes of Bonnie and Clyde, Klondike and American Horror Story: Coven. I'm not sure it would win in the drama series category, Breaking Bad is going to be very tough to beat.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

I watched the first two episodes of True Detective...it is slow but man is it great. I am sure I will watch the rest the next couple days :D

Man, it is great to see The Shirtless One really own a part. He gets a lot of crap (and rightfully so) but he is a dang good actor and he is killing this!

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

I saw this tweet (paraphrased) on the True Detective finale. Thought it was humorous enough to share:

"For being managed by a lawn maintenance/gardening professional, I would have expected Carcosa to be more tidy."

Speaking of Carcosa, they sure did a great job of making it as creepy as possible. My fiance had to turn away from the TV at times during that scene because she was so freaked out.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

RE: Carcosa. I wonder how much of that was set, and how much was real location. Cause if most of that was an actual location, that is one hell of a place.

And back to Hannibal. See, I didn't like the distraught, weeping Will who gets back to his cell, and suddenly does the transformation into cold, calculating Will. Too trite, too predictable, seen it a million times. And the plot with Hannibal's therapist does nothing for me, it just seems like it's only a matter of time before he kills her too. Also, been there, done that. The show just seems to be treading water, just not going anywhere.

It'll be up against Sherlock, too. PBS enters that in the miniseries category to leave Downton Abbey alone in the drama series category.

Justified:

For two weeks, they try and lose me, and then the 3rd week they reel me back in. Repeat. This season...it's all over the board.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Psych: hilarious tonight. Sweevil!

And I'm going to miss this show. This and Burn Notice were the only shows my mom and I could agree on.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

So after not being able to get into the first episode of true detective shortly after the premiere, I watched all 8 in the last 3 days...very good show start to finish.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Did anyone else google carcosa and see how old the story of carcosa and the yellow king is?

This is one of the few shows I can't believe has been on this long. It's gone by very quickly. Think I picked it up somewhere in season 2 or 3. Wasn't thrilled about the musical episode but other than that, they have kept it very fresh and interesting to watch. I will miss it too.

Down goes Arthur Chu.

11-day champ, #3 all-time winner not counting tournaments, etc. with just under $300K.

I looked it up after about episode 6. It seems like it is just being used as some kind of nod to the book from back in the day, with some symbolism thrown in. I really need to go through and watch them all again. I want to see stuff that I missed the first time. I should just marathon it some Saturday.
