Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Decided to try The Following after the game last night and I might be sorry I didn't watch it until now.

Last season started off really good too, all mystery and creepiness, and then by the end had pretty much degenerated into farce. Remains to be seen how this season goes.

Well?
Just wondering if it's worth putting on the DVR.

I think it is interesting, but it isn't exceptional. I liked the first one enough to watch the second one last night, and I'll finish the miniseries. I can see this being hit or miss, depending on the person.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

I saw someone suggest that in True Detective, the two guys were being interviewed in different rooms (interrogation room and conference room). It actually looks to be the same room. They are just sitting in different places in each interview.

Yeah, I think it's the same room, just at different times. I'm thinking that Woody's character is being interviewed first, based upon the questions they're giving Russ (Rust?).

I am trying to prevent myself at guessing anything. I just want to go along for the ride if you will. This has been a great series so far.

I was actually thinking the same thing today, looking at the background during Rust's interview....I think the original idea that they were different rooms is wrong. I do think the different times comment is correct, though.

I'm just thinking that there is some huge twist coming at some point, probably right at the end. I can't help but think we've already met the real killer.

Just went and scanned through, it is definitely the same room, they are on opposite sides of the table though. Not sure if there is any time difference, the room is every bit as junky and cluttered for both. The main difference is that the blinds are closed for Rust and open for Martin making it seem much brighter and nicer.

The Blacklist, last night.

I'm not sure how they're going to keep up this pace but I'm enjoying the ride. What an ending.

Re: TV 10: Blacklisted Sons: The Musical

Is it just me or does HIMYM do a much better job of the heavy episodes than the light, funnier episodes?

They've missed on some of those too. The difference, I think, is that the lighter episodes tend to be filler to round out 24 episodes a year. The heavier episodes are the narrative tentpoles, so there's a little more direction there.

Last night's episode finally felt like they had stopped trying to drag the story out and were getting into the end game.

Yeah, it was nice seeing all those things tied together that Ted had talked about before...

I wonder if the fact that they pushed the final episode up into the March sweeps means they finally acknowledged they've run out of ideas.

I liked last night's show, too, but I'm ready for the end. It's becoming a soap opera with cliffhanger after cliffhanger.

They've not changed the number of episodes in the season from when they initially ordered season 9, so I think it has more to do with trying to get people hooked into whatever its replacement show will be this spring before the heavier competition for new shows next fall. After all, when HIMYM ends, there will be an empty within people's TV viewing schedules that had been occupied for 9 years. A large chunk of that audience will be looking for something to fill the void.

I enjoyed last night's HIMYM a lot. I thought it was neat to do an episode from the mother's perspective and really enjoyed all the call-backs to past episodes.
