By the way, Luongo, should have been in goal and not Brodeur.

I am sure that is true, but we only get the CBC station from Kingston here in Utica. (Looking to curl again next year!)Believe it or not, CTV coverage in general has been much better than CBC. I live in Canada and a group of networks got together to produce the Olympics this time. CTV, Sportsnet, TSN, RDS (a consortium).
ENG USA - USA 5 - Canada 3

NBC video of the goals scored in the Canada/USA hockey game. It seemed that almost all the goals were scored on rebounds off point shots. Of course, both teams always had a number of players in perfect position to finish.
"You just can't beat it. It was fun," said Paul Stastny, whose father, Peter, opposed that 1980 team while playing for Czechoslovakia. "It was a once-in-a-lifetime atmosphere."
There's links to this team: Ryan Suter, who had two assists, is the son of 1980 defenseman Bob Suter. And defenseman Brooks Orpik, steady throughout, is named for Herb Brooks, the 1980 coach.
NBC is s-o-o-o-o pathetic. Showing the hockey game on msnbc while showing ICE DANCING!!! on NBC proves how low they have dropped in relevancy. Showing the hockey on msnbc was a calculated move to improve viewership and try to cut into Fox News' ratings. It worked....but only while the Olympics are on.![]()
And, will wonders never cease:
Wednesday 3 PM (ET) on NBC: USA vs. SUI/LAT (live)
And about 4:30 (ET) today 30 years ago -- one of the best pregame speeches ever made:

(Ironic - this was filmed in Vancouver)
And if they lose, they will take it to their *** graves -- to their *** graves.

I get it that the NHL and hockey in general are not huge ratings grabbers, but seriously, ice dancing? Is there really a larger following for ice dancing than men's hockey?
Unfortunately, that is absolutely true.
The fact is, whether any of us like it or not, all kinds of figure skating get the top ratings in America over any other Olympic sport. It isn't even close.
However, I sure would love to see what the hockey game ratings were last night.

Heard yesterday at my house, "Can we go back to ice dancing now?"
