I love how bringing up Eaves's rude, snotty comments after the game is perceived as winning without class. Winning with class doesn't mean allowing opposing fans, media, players or coaches to take potshots at our team simply because you lost.

first - you guys or women talking about Eaves and Crandall... since none of us KNOW anything about this situation it's bs to discuss it as if you/I/we do
second - re: crandall. he sucked in the ushl and so that's that. either UW judged him properly or they didn't. we'll know in 4 years
third - what's with the "honey" crap? just some more childishness?
fourth - see #1 re: that wise-*** alex whomever he was that was PUSHED or SHOVED

I won't condone that action ("the shove") but I'm not about to get all pc about it either just because modern society doesn't want a tough as nails Ditka/Knight/Hayes type coach anymore.

we've been over that situation ad infinitum and it's 8 years old now. 6-8 freshman that season marched themselves into Eaves' office to voice their support of him and the direction Eaves was taking the team (sounds like a bad guy right?). those 6-8 guys were leaders it turns out and won the NCAA title. enough said. oh and if you want MORE proof. guess who called him the best coach he played for? Zach Parise. yeah, the one who also played for the Blaiser (and this is not put-down of Deano, just pointing out who Parise called the best coach he played for).

If you think Lombardi was any less harsh than these guys you've got more to read up on.

Why are you so angry? Are you going to PUSH or SHOVE me?

There isn't a single person on here questioning Mike Eaves's ability to coach. That doesn't mean that we can't comment on his remarks after the game and apparently the remarks the announcers made. (And WeWantMore, radio/TV guys guys get a LOT of their information from coaches. I am sure they spoke to Mike Eaves about Crandall this weekend. So it's not devious as devious as you would think.) He's not coaching me. And in that vein, no one here is denying that Crandall had horrendous numbers and that we expected him to be our 3rd stringer for his entire college career. Whether it is true or not, it was unnecessary for him to say that he cut Crandall because of off-ice issues, when he'd said nothing of the sort when he cut him. If he cared about protecting the kid's reputation before, why change his tune now? Because he pointed at the bench? Seems pretty childish of Eaves to me.

But, by all means, stay off track all you want. We have an off week so there's nothing to distract me. Honey.

Again, maybe you're right. It probably wasn't the greatest thing to do in that situation. I guess what I took issue with is the implication that Eaves would deliberately lie about a kid like that. I don't think I buy that.

This thread is about as much fun as my forehead meeting an exposed brick wall.

To summarize (make sure I'm on the right page... was out of town this weekend)
1. Eaves is a devious mastermind who may or may not be in collusion with Badger radio personalities regarding former recruits.
2. Said former recruit talks sheit after sweeping. As a freshman. Ballsy.
3. Craig Smith managed to keep his hatred for nets in check.
4. NSSHG is as sarcastic as ever.
5. Solo and Runninwiththedogs are about ready to have a flame war of epic proportions and then meet up at a red roof inn to smooth things over. Honey.

Did I miss anything?

Yes. Crandall is technically a sophomore with a red shirt last year. So there! :p

But Eaves said the parting with Crandall -- who is 5-1 with a 1.89 gaa and 91.7 sr with Duluth -- had more to do with things away from the rink than on-ice performance.
"There were things that happened off the ice that were concerning to us,'' Eaves said, declining to elaborate. "So, with those things being said, we said, 'You could walk on here and try to earn (a scholarship) or you can go to another school.' He chose to go to another school.''

This being said Wisconsin fans, you do have a lot to look forward to and build on. You pushed the #1 team in the nation to overtime both nights. There were times were both teams looked great, and times were both were sloppy.

Having a good start to the season is great. We are receiving the accolades we should be. I'm enjoying us being there, but no need to act like the titles already in Duluth when we're only in November.

Let me interpet what eaves was really saying for you "I am notorious for over recruiting. I get a guy, then if I can find a better guy, I let that guy go or say hey, you can walk on here if you like, but your scholarship is going elsewhere." But, so I don't look like I continue to over recruit, because I know that it is actually hurting me out there, this time around I'm going to say their are some character concerns.

If you folks don't think there is some truth to that, take a look up, it says gulible on the ceiling.

If there really was an off ice issue, that should have been brought up the 1st day his scholarship was pulled, not the 1st time you face him. How can anyone respect the used car salesman that is Mike Eaves?

Sorry to have to school you like I always do on Fan Forums ;-) but ... Ed Gein is far an away a bigger zing when you want to slam buckyland. He kept a box of vulvas ferchrissakes. A Box Of Vulvas. Just sayin ...

Oh and who did Eaves push this weekend (yes .. I haven't read the whole thread)? When did he switch from trying to strangle players?
