Duluth, on the other hand, has zero national chain coffee and donut joints like Dunkin Donuts or Tim Horton's. I would think it would be a prime franchise opportunity. Starbucks and Caribou Coffee are in Duluth, but those place are spendy coffee drink houses not Horton's or DD like.

Oh yeah, hockey...as a tUMD fan, I pretty much expect nothing good to come out of a trip to the palace on the praire. Sioux sweep call here, not from the temporary protective barriers on the Red River.

Best Sioux fan story from Duluth...back in the mid 80's, I was making my way to my seats behind the net at the DECC and I was limping along with a bum knee. I must have had a pained look on my face because a grandmotherly woman in Sioux gear came up to me and said..."don't look so sad, we're just here to kick your *** tonight." Kinda left me speechless...Spent rest of game watching cowboy hat Sioux leather jacket guy scream over glass...Kosti, you suck. tUMD won the game and I think Kosti had a shutout.

Houghton at last count had no Wendy's, but for some reason FOUR Subways.

In California we have KRISPY KREME donughts everywhere, even at our grocery and convenience stores. Best to get the in-store donuts when they are being made and are still hot.

We have no Tim Horton's in California. I especially miss their maple bars.

Nice win for tDogs Saturday night. Gotta give some props to my former Sunday school pupil Adam Krause. Three goals on the weekend, good for you Adam. Yeah I am a Hermantown parent. He graduated from Hermantown with my oldest son, who is finishing up his BSCE this fall at tUMD. My yougest son is a baseball teammate of tFuture tDogs Jared Thomas and Neal Pionk and I expect big things out of both those Hermantown boys once they don the tUMD sweaters.

So, tUMD is splitting on the road in conf play...just gotta find a way to sweep at home in conf play vs. fake tHabitats and Western in December. GO DAWGS!!!
