tUMD @ UMTC : The in-state rivalry revisited!

Re: tUMD @ UMTC : The in-state rivalry revisited!

Good to know that the anti-fun police is here.

Records against Minnesota since the 2000-2001 season (not counting this year, since the Huskies & Gophers haven't played each other yet):

St. Cloud
0-6-0
1-1-1
2-0-2
2-1-0
0-4-0
0-4-0
1-0-2
1-3-1
3-2-0
(10-21-6 in 37 games)

Minnesota-Duluth
1-1-1
1-2-1
0-2-0
1-2-1
1-1-0
4-1-0
1-1-0
1-3-0
1-3-0
(11-16-3 in 30 games)

Yup...the Bulldogs are world beaters.

And why is this relevant? I'm sure there are a lot of team who are under 0.500 against the gophers during that stretch. Probably the majority of D-1 hockey if I had to take a stab in the dark. If wasting time putting together worthless statistics regarding UMD's performance against Minnesota makes you feel better, then go for it I guess.

2) How the hell does dude love still have Rip Eddie, that pos choked out his own kid.....its more R.I.H Eddie.....

That was Chris Benoit...who's in DHG's sig.

But then again, he is from JBSU where the PA announcer ends Husky goal annoucements with a Pro Wrassler like, WOOOOOOO.

And guess who started that. :)

And why is this relevant?

Why is our record against Minnesota from last year relevant?

Look for a Ginger Kid with a straight-brimmed baseball hat, hanging out with two midgets.

  I am not a ginger!

SWEEP!

I don't care how we got the sweep I just care that we got four points on the road. Plus it was nice to show up those gopher fans with giant chews in their mouths who were reminding us how much "better" they were.

For the record i was not flicked off tonight. :(

I remember that one month in 6th grade when I thought wrestling was cool. Then I grew up.

Re: tUMD @ UMTC : The in-state rivalry revisited!

They didn't call it a goal on the original call and couldn't determine that it was legitimate after 15 minutes of video review - I'd say that is anything but "a clear goal".

The only thing that's clear about this weekend is UMD had some insane puck luck.
My thought on it is it didn't count because Kangas was pushed into the net by Bergman (who was helped into that position by Lucia). The puck was in front of Kangas' right pad. The initial "shot" by Bergman was saved a split second before Kangas was taken out, then it looked like it was knocked in via the ensuing collision.

I saw two very even teams this weekend. Lucky goals happen, and UMD got the better of those and it made the difference. IMO, I thought Jack Connolly was the best player on the ice. Always seemed to be at the right place at the right time, and and some freakishly good hands.

After joking around all game about how "fluke goals don't count!!!" it was hilarious to see the GWG be a complete fluke. :D

That's how I saw it also.

And Jack Connolly is a freaking magician with the puck. Y'all will get to see that in a couple weeks.
