Re: tUMD and UMTC Home and Home: Winner will be decided in a dive off

Anyone else with DISH Network seeing the game tonight being a partial broadcast on channel 453, starting at 8 pm and going until 9:30? Any idea what's up with that?

Re: tUMD and UMTC Home and Home: Winner will be decided in a dive off

Word on GPL is that it's going to be a "join in progress" game.

That makes sense as it does show (JIP) on the program description. Stupid, since there's nothing on that channel that precedes the airing of this game. I hate crap like this.

Thanks for the info though.

Some good quotes from the article in this morning's Star Tribune:

“It’s always a good rivalry playing Duluth,” Marshall said. “There are a lot of friendships off the ice on both teams, and we know a lot of the guys. I think that just builds up the atmosphere a lot.”

Gophers senior captain Kyle Rau, on playing Duluth: “[Two] University of Minnesota schools. We wear the same colors out there. Our fans get excited when we play them and their fans get excited, too. They’ve got a bunch of Minnesota kids, too, which makes it fun because you grew up playing against them. The in-state rivalries are really important to us here because we want to be the best, and have the best record at the end of the year. And we have a good start to that so far.”

Gophers sophomore forward Justin Kloos: “The pride you take in beating the in-state rivals is as big as any conference game. I think Duluth is similar to St. Cloud. If you lose to them, you’re never going to quit hearing about it the rest of the summer because we have so many friends that play on those teams.”

Gophers junior defenseman Mike Reilly: “[Minnesota Duluth is] one of the teams that likes to try to get under our skin and get us rattled. I haven’t been able to play there yet, so I’m looking forward to that. It’s going to be a great crowd, and they’re right on top of you. It’s a weekend I’ve been looking forward to for a while now. … [In-state schools] have had success over the years and so have we … so it’s a little bit of hatred toward both sides, and they are matchups we’re going to look forward to.”

btntogo+ has the full Friday game. But as is rarely the case, it doesn't have Saturday's game.

Re: tUMD and UMTC Home and Home: Winner will be decided in a dive off

Having found a nice boom box with a cassette deck, I have been bringing cassettes ( nod to Koho ) to work. I came across one that is from a 21 hour Frank Zappa marathon from about 1990 on which there is an interview where he encourages people to embrace their intelligence rather than hide it to become more popular. He goes on to say:
if you know deep down in your heart that you're a dumb kind of a person, don't be ashamed of it. That's what you are. Have a good time. You can sit in front of the T.V. and drink beer and watch hockey and love it. Because the more you know, the less you like it so everybody should be happy with what they got. :o:DI just about peed my pants. I need to start drinking beer again. Go Gophers.

Re: tUMD and UMTC Home and Home: Winner will be decided in a dive off

Regular BTN2Go has the game tonight - the version where you log in with your cable info. btn2go+ requires a seperate subscription and is not connect to cable.

The NCHC must have decided to crack down on the internet rights. All FSN games were on btn2go last year, but so far the games at scsu and umd have not.

These below posts are correct. If you've got cable or a subs to BTN2Go+, you can get the game (but it is on BTN2Go)

If you pay for the + subscription do you always get the games that require a cable log-in?

I looked into getting the + subscription before the season but was told that games on regular btn2go were not included with the plus subscription. I eventually found another way to watch online, without having cable, but just going + would be easier.

Congrats on the game tonight. Hopefully things are different tomorrow.

This whole change really stinks. I just can't get into games against one time conference rivals that don't mean a thing anymore and it's been difficult with watching new Big Ten rivals. I never thought it would be this bad for me. Ugh.

Nobody seemed to give a rats a___!

Talk about boring.

Re: tUMD and UMTC Home and Home: Winner will be decided in a dive off

Wilcox showed up, in my opinion. Would have been a lot worse without him.

Re: tUMD and UMTC Home and Home: Winner will be decided in a dive off

My old man had a retirement party tonight so I didn't get to see or hear any of this game. First game in 8 years that has been either televised or played in the Twin Cities that I haven't watched.

Looks like it was good timing on my part.
