Re: Trump First Term I: I for One Welcome Our New Trumpy Overlord

It's good that we're going to concentrate on the medical, psychological and economic roots of white poverty to address the drug problem.

I've seen the medical and psychological addressed. Haven't heard too many people talking about the economic. Which I believe is the most important. If people have good jobs and the hope or dream of making something with their lives, they aren't going to turn to hard drugs as a salve for their despair.

Can't say Mookie has ever looked at drudge in his life :D

Just can't get passed the idiocy of anyone saying tangible property should go into a blind trust. That is just not possible :)

And you know exactly what they are saying just choosing to be pedantic ;)

Re: Trump First Term I: I for One Welcome Our New Trumpy Overlord

he founders certainly envisioned the potential for a Secretary of State to use her position to negotiate deals with foreign countries to help her foundation, but they weren't exactly keen on it.

To help her foundation. Allegedly.

Never mind the fact that Trump's "charity" has admitted to self-dealing. Gee, if only we'd known about this before the election.

President-elect Donald Trump’s charitable foundation has admitted to the IRS that it violated a legal prohibition against “self-dealing,” which bars nonprofit leaders from using their charity’s money to help themselves, their businesses or their families.

That admission was contained in the Donald J. Trump Foundation’s IRS tax filings for 2015, which were recently posted online at the nonprofit-tracking site GuideStar. A GuideStar spokesman said the forms were uploaded by the Trump Foundation’s law firm, Morgan, Lewis and Bockius.

The Post could not immediately confirm if the same forms had actually been sent to the IRS.

In one section of the form, the IRS asked if the Trump Foundation had transferred “income or assets to a disqualified person.” A disqualified person, in this context, might be Trump — the foundation’s president — or a member of his family, or a Trump-owned business.

The foundation checked “yes.”

You're correct that correlation is not the same as causation, and by itself it is not explanatory. Which is why I also posted the explanation earlier: https://twitter.com/Chris_arnade/status/798358092241059841

Yes, but as I explained earlier that map doesn't show what he claims it does. The harshest/reddest places in the west aren't places that Trump won and it doesn't match for most of Wisconsin, Michigan and the entire vertical center of the U.S.

Ah yes, the good 'ol "He did it too" response, so it must be ok for her to do it.

It's all bad and it needs to be stopped, but welcome to America.

So if its so obvious she's done it, show us where she has funneled her foundation's money into her own personal accounts. Should be easy for you.

While you're at it, show us where the quid pro quo(s) were for a person or state giving money to her foundation, and then what they got from the US in return. You know, since she was using her sec. of State position to shakes these countries down for her charity.

Wrong...you are equating an accusation with an admission and that is not the same.

It isnt right if either of them did it, but only one of them has been proven to have done it beyond an allegation. (the Trump Foundation admitted it) Its the same with Petraeus...people pretend that because the Libs defended Hillary that they should leave him alone but the difference is he was caught mishandling classified stuff, admitted it and was convicted of it. She was not. You cannot equate two things that are not equitable.

Re: Trump First Term I: I for One Welcome Our New Trumpy Overlord

There were lots of pictures and videos going around of the "Alt-Right" convention in DC...lots of "Heil Trump" stuff with Nazi salutes. Hell The Restaurant That Hosted The Dinner Apologized after pictures went public.

But hey it isnt about race...and those of us that are not THEM have no reason to fear. I should be happy that our country is being influenced by these people...who worship at the alter of a Reality Show Celebrity and the most infamous genocidal madman in modern history using terminology and symbology used to subjugate and murder my people.

One of the main planks of Hillary's platform was universal Pre-kindergarten and making college affordable, because the reality is, there just aren't that many middle-class jobs that don't require a college degree anymore. That's one of the biggest steps to solving the economic aspect. We just don't need that many blacksmiths and milliners anymore.

Of course it's not investigated but it seems through WikiLeaks that a handful of people knew about paying for Chelsea's wedding using foundation money:https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/52046

Re: Trump First Term I: I for One Welcome Our New Trumpy Overlord

Do I get credit for saying this, practically verbatim, for the last 17 years?

What is the fundamental purpose of the Republican Party? To minimize the tax bill of the rich. For those in the highest tax bracket—the people whose interests are actually represented by elected officials—politics is an investment. It is no big deal to invest a million dollars in the presidential race if it ends up saving you ten million dollars on your tax bill. Issues that do not directly affect the net worth of the rich are sideshows, in the sense that they are not the core purpose of the party, but rather instrumental tools to be used to advance the core purpose. It is that simple. All of the issues that attract the majority of the Republican Party’s voters—Gay marriage! Bible thumping! American exceptionalism! Tough on crime! Tough on terror! Abortion, babies, rah rah rah!—are not the issues that motivate the people who actually control the party. The rich, after all, are insulated by money from the potential negative impacts of these issues. They care about money, and how to keep as much of it out of the public till and in their own pockets as possible. The way to do that is to manipulate the tax code to their own advantage. In order to do that, they need elected officials working for their interests. In order to get elected officials, they need lots of votes. In order to get lots of votes, they need more than just the rich voting for them. In order to get lots of poor and middle class people voting for a party advocating policies in direct opposition to the economic interests of the vast majority of people, they wave around social issues like a matador waves a cape in front of a bull. The wealthy can watch the culture wars play out from on high, laughing to themselves all the while. All of the fine hardworking Christian culture warriors are the peasants fighting for their king, who urges them to battle for god while being primarily concerned with maintaining a healthy flow of capital. Donald Trump proclaiming “I love the Bible” is just the most cartoonish manifestation of the playbook that all Republican functionaries are working from.

Re: Trump First Term I: I for One Welcome Our New Trumpy Overlord

I've obviously touched a nerve with some guy on Facebook. A friend posted that Richard Spencer video and said Disgraceful. One of her FB friends responded that it wasn't Trump's fault! She responded she didn't say it was. I jumped in, stupidly as you will see, asking what his thoughts were, how come no Trump supporters agreed, that they could, it wouldn't make you any less a Trump supporter. He actually responded, which was good. Then this other guy, who my friend is always getting into these ridiculous FB wars with jumped in. Here's the conversation:

Trump Supporter: It's all sour grapes. She can't control her anger. Trump could cure cancer and she'd find a reason to *****. You ever see her post anything condemning the thugs sent to attack Trump supporters all summer? Of course not. Her party takes it's marching orders from a Nazi. Ever hear any of them condemn Soros? He's still busing in rioters. Anything from the left? Of course not. I enjoy it when I see posts like [Scarlet's friend]. Makes me happy when they get so angry they can't think straight. Now they know what we put up with for 8 horrible years. Go Donald. lol

Me: Aaaaaaaaaand like clockwork. The sour-grapes-he-won-get-over-it post. No comment on that video [TS]? At least Other Guy was adult enough to respond. Do you think it was fake or a plant? I've been waiting for that response, too.

TS: Go away will you. lol

TS: Yours is a party run by a Nazi. Enough said. lol

Me: Still no response. That's telling. Are you ****ed off that Trump isn't going after Hillary now?

TS: Are you ********? All summer we watched innocent people being beat up by Soros thugs. When did you condemn them?

TS I'm ****ed I'm wasting my time talking to you. lol

TS Cops attacked and murdered. You never said a word. Now you talk **** because a bunch of clowns raised their hands in a Nazi salute. Big deal..

Me: ******** as an insult. How adorable. And ending each of your posts with lol doesn't make them any less demeaning or insulting. I think Trump supporters getting beat up by people was awful, disgusting and wrong and distracted from the true meaning of what the protests were all about. It makes them just as bad as the horrible people threatening and minorities and people of color all in Trump's name.

TS: Another Greek Liberal. Loves abotion. Loves gay rights and then goes to church and makes sure everybody sees her crossing herself. Hypocrites all.

Me: I asked a simple question TS. That's not talking ****.

Me: Oh, so you're a homophobe too?

TS: You hypocrite.

TS: Why don'y you read the ten commandments?

TS: You phoney.

TS: You hypocrites think God is going to say well she's serious about her beliefs. So she's fine. Fools. All of you.

TS: You glorify the evil and the perverted and then you brag about it.

TS: You can sell all the cookies you want. You can cross yourself from now until Kingdom come. It won't matter one bit. Because He knows who's heart is black and who's isn't.

TS: I said it before. Hypocrites like you drove me away from the church. I couldn't bear your hypocrisy any more. I couldn't bear watching you hypocrites pervert His word while the rest of the Jokes congratulated you all for the fine things you did for the church. Like that matters. You have no clue what awaits you.

A big mistake to engage this loon.

I'm curious why so many people engage in things like this? Nobody is changing anyone's mind. It's just yelling on the internet.

And then of course shown here as a "Look at how dumb this candidate's supporter is!"

At what point do people get tired of engaging in this and at what point do people stop feeling the need to show their fellow believers that the other side are idiots?

Is this directed at me or that guy? I generally don't engage because I find it difficult at time to figure out what I need to say or should say. The friend that posted the intial thing, I see her engage with this guy all the time with the same shtick. I feel like when I didn't back down, he went off on this tangent that had nothing to do with the original post. Not going to lie, it was a little disconcerting to see him go off like that.

Re: Trump First Term I: I for One Welcome Our New Trumpy Overlord

He ran on Clinton's conflicts of interest. We elect him. He says now to NY Times there is no conflict of interest.

****ing Americans are idiots.

Re: Trump First Term I: I for One Welcome Our New Trumpy Overlord

That dude ain't changing the world in his living room :)

He should go fly to Iraq and start walking to find some Isis dudes and shoot them! He should go now.

There's a whole world of them out there. I have one who sits near me at work. I have taken to listening to streaming olde tyme radio just to keep from hearing her and her friends "discuss" politics. "Decent church-going women with their mean, pinched, bitter, evil faces."

To live well you must not care if stupid people think you are stupid.

Let me just say...if God is a Trump supporter or backs the jerkoffs who follow him (especially the Alt-Righters) then [bleep] God I am glad I am Agnostic.

Former CIA Chief Says Russia Hacked the DNC and Intelligence is Getting Polarized

He confirmed that the DNC’s servers had indeed been hacked by a “foreign power” last summer.
America’s collective intelligence agencies have all been overseen by a central office since 2004. But now that Drumpf won, he says he wants to scuttle that office. Which if you’ll pardon me for getting ahead of myself, would be very convenient for anyone who just rose to power via shady means.
Even Hayden’s successor, Mike Rogers concurs: a “foreign state meddled” with our election.
And he went on to call out that foreign state by name: Russia, which he accused of launching a cyberattack against the DNC, committing “information theft,” and passing that stolen information along to WikiLeaks for the purpose of influencing our national election.
And he said these conclusions amounted to the level of HIGH CONFIDENCE. Which in CIA parlance, means you bet your *** it’s true.
Finally, he said the “hyper-partisanship” that’s swept the country has also bled into America’s intelligence and security communities; organizations that can only be effective if they’re strictly NON political.
