Hey jmh, I'm in NYC and my co-worker and I are planning to go to Bobby Flay's Cafe Americain (?) for dinner tonight. Have you ever been there? I suppose I could go online to check out the place but I'm lazy and I actually should be doing work, not checking out restaurants on the interwebs. :)

Just looking for a recommendation for it. Like, if you said "I had a sucky meal there" I may consider another place to go. Sounds like you liked it? Isn't Bobby Flay the one married to the actress from Law & Order SVU?

Yep, I had a nice meal there with my family... a couple of years ago, maybe? I don't remember any particular entrees that anyone had, what does stick out in my mind is their shellfish towers from their raw bar, which a lot of tables seemed to get, us included, and which was very tasty:

I think this is the larger of the two sizes offered. They're expensive ($75 for the small one, $120 for the large one according to the restaurant website), in part because it's in Midtown and everything up there is expensive, but if you both like shellfish then I'd recommend it. (If not, it wouldn't be worth it for you.)

And yes, according to Wikipedia Bobby Flay is married (his third marriage, to be precise) to Stephanie March, who is on Law and Order: SVU.

Netflix (if you have a subscription)
Angry Birds ($1 - Best dollar I've ever spent)
Pano ($2 - Very slick panoramic automatic stitching program)
Google
urban spoon (a pretty great app for finding places to eat when on the road).

Those are the must haves.

There's also the jailbreaking deal which is pretty solid. Some amazing apps out there that apple won't approve that the community loves. LockCalendar is one, SBSettings, etc.

Among those that aren't needed but I enjoy are:
Sleep Cycle (the alarm function is pretty nifty)
WootWatch if you use woot
Gas Cubby (although I highly doubt you'll have much use for this program since you're in the air so much
5-0 Radio (good for endless police radio entertainment)
The Weather Channel
if you're at all into astronomy I'd look at Starmap Pro (totally worth it if you do a lot of stargazing unless you know how to get the full version for free, then it's a no brainer)

That's it. * paying for 'net access on a handheld device. * phone cameras. * video recording capability. IT'S A GODDAM PHONE! I don't want a modern ENIAC. I want a simple device to place phone calls and text with (and the latter is still "meh" to me).:mad::mad::mad::mad:
