Re: TRP: These Ides Have Seen A Lot Of Loves...

I'm just hoping we actually get summer weather this year. Last summer blew in terms of weather--one week of 80's, and then for the rest of it we barely broke 70.

This is what you get when you live 25 feet from Canada. :p

Re: TRP: These Ides Have Seen A Lot Of Loves...

I love "Up North." I'm not super outdoorsy but I love getting up there and giving it a go.

When I think up north I think cabin, campfire, cards/bsing in the afternoon, killing time at night. Epitome of doing nothing, umplugged from the world.

Green Mill is the best pizza you can get in Minnesota. No question.

I'm thinking similar, though when I can't go to the cabin, some of that gets thrown out the window. I'm kinda just looking for a weekend to get away from the cities to hang out, and hopefully do it within a couple hour drive and somewhat cheap.

I hear the "scenery" is very impressive on a hot Saturday on Gull Lake....;)
Maybe we should just rent a party barge and troll Minnetonka some Saturday...:D

Re: TRP: These Ides Have Seen A Lot Of Loves...

Nothing beat drinking all weekend next to a lake with a fire. Bliss.

In no particular order, things that beat that scenario:

Hockey
Baseball
Lesbians (well, not the butch ones)
Winning any amount of money over $100.00.
Ninjas
Pirates
Zombies
Monkeys

etc...
:D

You live next to a lake, a big one, some may even call it great. Grab your booze and go start a fire! :D

I could. I was also adding in the appeal of seeing somewhere new, and throwing in the cheap entertainment of the USCHO set.

Re: TRP: These Ides Have Seen A Lot Of Loves...

Mr. wore Black's grandparents live up in Pine River on the golf course. I have to get up to there to do some drunk golfing again.

Yeah, if figured something like that. That area, that I was talking about is a fun place to see, quite the vacation place. Unfortunately there are tons of people vacationing there on the weekends, so it gets quite busy.

I really need summer now. Friend's cabins on West Fox, Pine Island, Shamineau, and Pokegama. So much fun.

We could find some random camp by a lake: bocce jarts fire booze. win.

I do have a 9 person tent...(which actually means 6, but still...)
