TRP: Summer, come now!

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

OK, if I can ever get a weekend off again to come back down there, I need to go to this place.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

Thanks to today's storm, a couple huge trees were completely uprooted near the main building of my employer. 3-4 feet wide at the base of the trunk.

That being said, one of them landed on some power lines, knocking out power to our main building. Since the offsite's system is linked to the main building's system, I couldn't do any work. So from about 1pm-3pm, I did nothing (and I do mean nothing), waiting to hear when the power went back on. 3pm, boss sent everyone home, but I still had to hang around for our trucker to bring all the merchandise we had ready to the main building to load on those trucks. So I ended up clocking out at 4:30. Whee fun.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

TK's, eh? I think I have a buddy playing there on the 6th, if people were serious about doing both nights.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

Maybe the 12th, too?
We're trying to get the Friday off so we can get into town early. It'd be a little birthday celebration for the mister. :)

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

It's up and down. Last time my tab was pretty high, but I did buy some rounds. The best I've ever come out is heavy drinking for about 4 hours with a bartab of about $25. That was a bunch of free drinks.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

Yeah the $25 tab was really surprising to me since you can't get 3 beers for $25 at TK's. I think the night I hathat tab was the night before we went up to the yoop for the wedding.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

Same with me. Sometimes it is 20 bucks, sometimes it is 200.

Yep. Although the last few times I've gone out with bbdl/MNS, and I've really drank, it's been close to 40, and it should not have been. Given the projected OT for the next couple weeks (a big chunk will be this week, due to the more-than-half-day power outage), I'd be up for all three nights. And if it IS the 5th/6th...well, if someone brings some eggs, I can feed all y'all breakfast and we can make it a Bender Weekend. 3lbs of bacon in the freezer right now, and a ton of pasta for a good base for pre-gaming/night out.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

I just had a bender weekend, but I might be up for another.

I haven't had a Bender Weekend since the Houghton Sh* Show. And before that? Probably the F4. I think I'm due.

Heh, should I FB Event it? Wait, don't answer that. I'm not that lame. (shuddup peanut gallery). Let's make it so. 8pm Friday night, Chez Rube. Then it begins...

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

Matt thinks he'll be in (not oncall for his work). Oh man. This has sh* show written all over it. I envision Biddy violating Chez Rube's bathroom, as is F5 tradition...

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

You know what we really should do? Buy some $200 cars, weld in some roll cages, take them down my way and dirt race em in the pasture. Helmets, 5 point harnesses, reinforced frames, roll cages...yeah that would be fun. We could do relay races, when you're not driving you have to slam a beer!

When I had the Deadmobile ('89 Corsica 4 cyl), I looked into racing/demo derby/etc it down in Burnsville. The cost of preparing a car negated that real quick. I figured, throw some reinforcement in, cool. Nope. More than that.

I'm not talking about any kind of structured race, we won't have to meet any kind of requirements, so we can just throw in some reinforcement, like you said.
