TRP: Summer, come now!

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

My electric bill last month was just a smidge under $50, this month it might push $60. I set the A/C at 74 during the summer. This week it's likely to go to 75.

The one that really kicks my *** is the gas bill in the winter. That one can be $140 a month in the winter.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

My gas and electric bill last month was like $59. I'm fully expecting it to eclipse $100-$120 this month.

Cooling: 75 M-F 5 pm to 6 am then I let it coast to 80 (until 5 pm again)
75 all day Saturday and Sunday

Heating I keep it around 72-75 and turn it down after 10 pm. Plus I like to have the heat kick on around 6 am. The furnace is right below my bathroom and the duct heats up the marble. Poor man's heated floors.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

When it gets cold I'll start with the heat at 68 until I inevitably get sick, and then it makes its way up to about 70 or 71.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

Your AC sucks. Jut thought you should know...

It's a window A/C. With vaulted ceilings. Window A/Cs suck to begin with. Do the math. :p

And I think I ran about $65 last month, with the A/C running on high (more or less) for about a week total. I expect about the same this month. Thankfully, I don't have to pay for heat.

I think I started mine at about 68 as well. I bounced back and forth trying to see what the energy usage was like. I get the distinct feeling that with a roommate that experimentation may come to an end... Then again, it's my house. :D

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

I've burned the last hour and a half watching Hard Knocks with the KC Chiefs.

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

I am the same way. I wouldn't pay for keeping it 65 in this weather though. No way.

And since I work in a warm environment, I'm used to warmer temps/humidity. Actually prefer it. Chances are, if it's 60, I'm wearing long sleeves.

at least when it gets colder you can put on more or warmer clothing...I can't take off more clothing to feel comfy when its >90 degrees

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

So, 4 months till skiing/snowboarding :o

Thank God that baseball is more or less over for me.... Heard of 4-5 guys that had heat problems while working games yesterday... I would die on a ballfield if I was working...

Re: TRP: Summer, come now!

Were you working in the warehouse today? Was it busy? Yes? Well, then I'm happy. :)

That reminds me of a That 70's Show moment.

Fez: Hyde and Jackie sitting in a tree. They're in love like two monkeys.
Hyde: Fez, that's not how it goes.
Fez: Is it making you mad?
Hyde: Yes.
Fez: Then that's how it goes.

Yes. And it was busy enough to have us have 3 workers at the offsite location today, and we still finished up about 1/2 hour later than normal schedule. It's been about a 1.5 person job as of late. Reason for today (and probably the rest of the week)? Guess where all the fans, A/Cs, air circulators, etc are?
