TRP: Blizzards, Bacon, and Beer

Re: TRP: Blizzards, Bacon, and Beer

because southern airports have very little need to have de-ice trucks. De-ice fluid is expensive (about 7 bucks a gallon) and you have to buy it in bulk (about 1000 gallons) so airlines bank on NOT needing it.

When Atlanta gets snowstorms (about once a year) the only flights that go out are the overseas flights and maybe the coast to coast stuff. Everything else cancels.
Stop bringing logical answers to my gripe session! :p

Re: TRP: Blizzards, Bacon, and Beer

Can the week end now? Please?

Today was slower, thank goodness, and we were all set to get out a little early. However, one of our semis decides to get stuck in the parking lot entrance, ON THE *ING CURB! Tried 2x4s for traction. No go. Industrial ice melt (stuff starts working pretty much instantly). No go. Tried to tow the *er out with another one of our semis. No go. FINALLY, after about 1/2 hour, a rubber mat was slipped under the tire juuuuuuust enough to get the tire to catch, and get the truck free.

So ended up not getting home until late, and making me really *ing p*ed off.

And my back is *this close* to going out again, due to this work week.

*ing great.

Re: TRP: Blizzards, Bacon, and Beer

Sure, no problem. Just tell your boss I authorized it. :D

Amazingly, it's not the boss' fault!

He's brought people in early, left me to do my thing at work (where, gee, I'm the most productive when he does that), and basically has done no wrong. I'm in shock about that.

But anyway, one more day. Just hope no one over-reacts and orders a crapload of ice-melt tomorrow, given that that product goes through my area, and we only sell them in 50-lb boxes (measuring about 2'x1'x1', mega-density) and 100lb 5 gallon buckets.

Re: TRP: Blizzards, Bacon, and Beer

Well I got off work 45 mins early today so that I could say goodbye to my brother before he left for the airport to go back to Phoenix. Turns out his flight was at 5:40 instead of 7:40 so he was already gone by the time I got home anyways. I was kinda bummed. Oh well.
