that's the same thing as the rainbow there, sailor.

From my lesbian friend, a lot of people in the glbt groups are frustrated by sven. he participates in all these glbt functions for charity and fundraisers for the HRC, but he won't come out and announce that he's gay. I get an earful when I say that I don't see the problem in his not stating because his private life is his business.

Apparently my opinion on that matter is wrong. :rolleyes:

Well, I don't think he has to come out. I think it's pretty common knowledge.

My mom was on antibiotics almost constantly while in the home

I hope that's not the case for my mom, and the ER doc did say she was sans infection. This place is pretty clean and doesn't smell like other nursing homes I've visited in the past. I hope that's a good indicator. Really, above all else, I just hope she doesn't get kicked out of the place come Monday morning and the residence director gets into the office.

Yeah, between all the charity auctions, the AIDS billboards, and the "St. Cloud Proud" double-entendre in the SCSU billboards, he's pretty well out there without stating it.

The home my mom was in was awesome, very clean, excellent staff, my wifes sister came to work there after my mom was there for awhile, she said its the best facility she'd worked in. That's why your mom was checked, urinary tract infections are a fact of life in nursing homes. It does affect their behavior. My mom was pretty laid back. Does the place your mom is in have different sections? My moms place had a section for wanderers, place for quiets types, folks who were further along in dementia, assisted living area etc.

My mom's place only has two wings. The NE wing is for people with physical limitations, and the SW wing is for dementia patients. Each wing can fully operate independent of the other with exception to the residence director. My mom's wing has only 20 rooms, each room a single occupant. In fact, her wing is only a year old. The other wing, the original wing, is only 10 years old. The entire SW wing has keypad controlled doors for anyone entering or exiting the wing, otherwise it's wide open with each bed/dorm room having its own non-locking doors. For only having 20 bedroom, it's a pretty large place with wide walkways, two large living room type setups, and a huge dining room, along with a smallish fenced in area out the back of the dining room. It's a good setup, much better than the other places we toured.

Hopefully your mom settles in, it may take awhile. They had my mom on some antidepressant for awhile, Celexa? maybe?

Similar, but the pink triangle has some extra connotations that the supremacists around Stearns County might prefer.

He isn't officially out? Bizarre. I know that some friends of mine have seen him out at gay bars, and he doesn't seem to be shy about his proclivities.
