Chechnyans, eh? Of all the different permutations I thought about, that's one that didn't occur to me. What, the US didn't help Chechnya enough when they wanted to separate from Russia and so they came to the US to commit mass murder?

I hope the NY Post editors have a sense of shame. Based on the pictures of the brothers that I see on TV, neither one of them are the people whose pictures were plastered all over the front page yesterday.

Poor kid. Luckily, the dumbass mob or lone avenger didn't do anything stupid to him.


I'd sue for sure although maybe the Post is immune?

Just heard that the one still at large drove OVER his dead brother to get away from police. What a scumbag.

On a separate note, just got the call that our office is closed for the day.

Surprised that the killers stayed in town. I would have thought they would have skipped town/country.

TV reports that no buses nor trains are running and most universities are closed.


It's weird in a way, we all call them "terrorists" but they don't provoke the feeling of "terror" so much as "rage" in most people I know. My wife is one of the kindest, most thoughtful and generous people I know, and this morning as we are watching the news out of Watertown she says "I hope they kill him."

Speculation is that they had more carnage planned. Some reports are saying that the police found more explosives.

Fox posted locations of Boston colleges/universities. It included Northwestern. YEESH!! At least they did not send the news crews to upstate New York.

A talking head on TV said several minutes ago that one reason that the police may have wanted the suspects' pictures not circulated in the media is because, if these were terrorists on a mission and they had not been suicide bombers, that often indicated that they had another target planned, and the public circulation of photos might cause them to accellerate their timetable. I suppose the authorities felt that they had to release photos yesterday after the leaks in the papers.


for some reason I am reminded of John King of CNN back in Sept 2001, in the immediate aftermath of 9-11, when they took Cheney into hiding at a safe location. The anchor interviewing King said something about Cheney being in an undisclosed location and King said "I know where Cheney is, and I'm not telling." There are more important considerations in the big picture than just being the first to publish one aspect of a bigger story.

Very chilling interview on one of the Boston TV stations with the suspect's uncle. The two have been in the US since 2000 or 2001. They attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin HS (public HS in Cambridge, probably have many graduates on this board). One was a wrestler, the other a boxer.

Another interview with someone who knew them and saw them a few weeks ago and saw nothing unusual. Described them as normal American kids.,

Just heard on ABC that white hat guy made an online post saying he'll "kill all of them like they killed my brother."
