Re: Travel Part 2 - Where ya headed?

So, the London trip. I think I will have 2 days there, the 2nd night I will want to stay near Heathrow, for an early flight the next morning. I should have 1 or 2 other nights in London. What areas are good to stay, close to the sites, convenient to the tube, etc? I will be alone on the corp card, so hotels only, no vacation rentals, airbnb, or anything like that.

Second, with 2 days, what are the must sees in London, what do I need to sign up for ahead of time (tours and such) and are there any pubs or restaurants that I need to visit?

Thanks ahead of time.

Re: Travel Part 2 - Where ya headed?

Not sure if anyone gets biz/first class where dx and I work unless they somehow get updgraded on their own. Several coworkers were going to Japan, Taiwan, HK, etc several years ago when they got forced to the back.
Though execs often do long hauls in G5s.
.

G5s? I’m 95% sure we roll G6s as of this year. I’m also 100% sure they aren’t allowed to fly commercial for any flight once you’re on the executive committee. I know our CEO isn’t allowed to drive either.

Your work doesn’t pay for business class for long haul flights? Ouch.
Mine does when you hit a certain level

We used to. Until one division ****ed it up for the rest of us.

I am sure you will get good answers here but you may want to post on GPL, too, I know several there have spend significant time in London including my kid. He was there for a semester not too long ago and has been back a few times since so hopefully he will chime in with suggestions.

It's been a few years since I've flown on the corpies, I'm sure you're correct. :)

Re: Travel Part 2 - Where ya headed?

Oh bite me. ;)

I also know we weren’t stupid this time and we didn’t buy the engines. Just the plane. The engines were leased separately.

Re: Travel Part 2 - Where ya headed?

We definitely don't get business or first for company travel. Of course the only long haul company travel that gets done is to Brazil, to pick up new airplanes...

:D
I flew round trip twice to London, Ont. Wheels up 6:30AM, on board breakfast catered by the St. Paul Grill, at a desk working by 10AM.
Coworker had to come the next day and fly commercial. He also left around 7AM. He rolled into town around 4 that afternoon. It's really amazing how much time it can save.

Was posting there at about the same time you posted this.

I don't get to fly on the corporate jet much anymore. I don't have much of a need to fly down to corporate much anymore.

Re: Travel Part 2 - Where ya headed?

Admit it farmboy, you’re going to miss trips down south and all the aguardiente that comes with it. :D

Re: Travel Part 2 - Where ya headed?

It only works if I book via KLM, not Delta. I'm hoping it doesn't go away before I can book it.

Also not surprising. More people should check partner sites before they book, regardless of the airline they usually fly. In Delta's case, you can sometimes book/ticket through SkyTeam partners at a lower price, but still fly DL metal under their codeshare agreements.

So I should try to justify on cost savings? Hell, I’ll even buy my own breakfast.

DL metal meaning the planes?
