Re: Travel Part 2 - Where ya headed?

I've been asked to head up a new operation of 1,800 in another part of the country starting as early as 3 months from now. It would mean moving the family again (and the 3rd new school within 2.5 years for the kids) although the physical move itself wouldn't be that drastic. They'd have to ship my car there and it's amazing how much household s**t we've acquired in so little time, but it wouldn't that painful. I'd most likely re-up my contract which means if I want them to pay for the move home I'd be here another 2 years. Lots of perks and opportunities, but there is a lot to think about.

Iloilo, Panay Island, Philippines

Just remember that each move brings you closer to your endgame: Fargo.

There's part of the Philippines that don't like us. They have long memories from the subjugation by the Army in the early 1900's.

So, I just received word that my 28-year old daughter took a job in Vancouver BC after living in Atlanta for 9 years. I've never been; nor has she, other than for two days for interviews. Any of you familiar enough with the city to comment on what it's like?
Fantastic place. Rents are a bit high, but otherwise can't be beat.

Perhaps that used to be the case? We've had "boots on the ground" there for going on 2 years with nary a word of strife or discomfort.

Re: Travel Part 2 - Where ya headed?

I can now say I've been to all the lower 48 states.

...and suddenly JimJamesak has a look of dismay... :p:D

Re: Travel Part 2 - Where ya headed?

North Korea detonated a nuclear device the morning we arrived and we xperienced two moderate earthquakes the night before we left. I'm ready for my own bed!
Hell you can experience earthquakes right here in Oklahoma, no need to go all the way there. They had a 5.7 just the other day and on average about 4 or 5 per day. enjoy!

Wow, just saw something that looks like you are in the middle of a very, very nasty weather thingy. Hope you are OK

Thank you for asking. It was fairly subdued where I am, but there are parts of the country that were hit pretty hard.

I saw a map that looked like you were in the middle of the worst. Glad you weren't!

Wonder what the minimal amount of miles is needed to drive through each of the Lower 48?

There's actually a contest out there to see who can do this the fastest. The ideal route is a bit of a mystery but it's quite interesting. It's been talked about on here before but I forget by who...
