Transfer Portal 2025

Randomly happened to see an article about the transfer portal for NCAA men's basketball: over 1150 players in the first two days!!

Makes sense. There's a lot of programs, and most of them have 15 or so people on the roster. Teams play 8 or 9 of them. The rest likely don't have all that much loyalty, unless it's their dream program. Those that play but don't start likely think they should start. Those that start at a program that isn't making them rich hope another program will. The people who have everything going their way keep one eye on the NBA. Even the coaches don't stay in one place to the extent that they did 40 years ago. As a fan, it's hard to form much of a connection to an NCAA MBB program these days, unless you're a fan of that school, period.

Out of the five MN Ms. Hockey finalist below for the award last year, only Lindzi Avar with 21 points, (15 G, 6 A) had a significant immediate impact for her college team.
The rest mostly played in limited roles. Crazy how competitive and difficult it can be to break through and adjust to the college game especially in the WCHA.

Kate Kosobud - Minnesota
Lindzi Avar - Cornell
Ilsa Lindaman - St Thomas
Ayla Puppe - Minnesota
Josie St. Martin - Ohio State

Other than Minotti, the other Clarkson portal entrants are current freshmen (and a sophomore) looking for an opportunity to get some game time. Gruber (goalie) also is coming back for another season.

General comment directed at impatient Fr..........You came to the school you did because you connected with the staff and you liked the school. Do Fr at top end schools see a ton of PT? Not really. YOUR TIME WILL COME. Be patient.

So the tunnelers now have 5 in the portal as Emma Conner has put her name in as well. On GPL, the word is Kate Kosobud is headed to UMD. The dogs are the early portal leader in the clubhouse with 3 pickups so far...

Still nothing as far as bc is concerned...

Jordan and Pellerin in the portal. Two Grade A talents.

Is it known where one or both are headed? It was mentioned in the bc thread possibly bu for one?...Yikes, if true
Get out the popcorn and a cold beverage and head over to the BC thread. T3 and Reggie are going to go 10 rounds bare fisted in a cage.

I wonder Watts would cause more commotion, them staying in Hockey Easy or heading far west.

I am sure top teams are lining up. BU certainly would be interested. I would throw Colgate into the mix. I assume they are looking for a good academic school so that would exclude all of the crappy Big Ten state schools :)

Nothing added to the Gopher Puck Live tracker page since Wednesday.

I might think maybe they just hadn't gotten around to updating their list, but there have been names added to the DI men's page yesterday and today. So it appears there truly have been no new names over the last two days. Is that significant?

More than three weeks left to go. but the pace of names being added has certainly slowed down.
