Transfer Portal - 2024

I was talking today with one of our former captains from our men's team and he had a single comment about Wheeler committing to our program,
"If you can't beat em, join em!"

Wheeler has two national championships, and in both of those final fours, she did in fact 'beat them".

If Wisconsin had the money, she'd still be there, so she's really just at her backup plan.

Possibly. Possibly not.

Would you like to bet on that?

I thought you all said WI was going to win this year. That's what I read on this forum last off season. Instead WI didn't win the WCHA (2 years in a row) and didn't win the National Title. All your paper talent and WI came up short to a team from Ohio (under .500 8 years ago). Culture wins over talent. OSU has the best locker room in the country. Thank you Jenn Gardner!!! The 2024-25 season will be a good one as I believe the Gophers will be back in the mix.

They were established National Team players well before. They had a much better surrounding cast at BC. That makes a BIG difference. You are delusional.

Really? I think the delusional sticker looks better stuck to you. If they truly had such a better surrounding cast at BC then how come they had no Natty or other achievements?
The supporting cast they needed and got was obviously at Ohio State and our Natty is the irrefutable proof!
You probably don't know B & B said they would have come to Ohio State two years earlier if it could have happened.

"You all" must be someone else - another assumption by you.

I don't make predictions like that. I understand all too well how hard winning championships is - conference and national. The last four national championship games have all been one goal games that could easily have gone the other way. Add in one goal OT games in the earlier rounds, and each of our teams might well have not even made the final a couple of those years.

I have hopes every year. Predictions like HockeyBuckeye makes about winning the championship and going undefeated at home, etc? Nope. Not me.

I think your right. At the same time WI could have made it happen if they really wanted to.

It might have come down to already committed NLI scholarship money, and "you can keep one or two of the four COVID seniors, but not all": Gervais, O'Brien, Kotlowski, Wheeler. And much as I like Wheeler, Wheeler or O'Brien is not a tough decision.

Or she's graduating, and decided to spend her last year experiencing something else. Maybe she just wanted one more year with her old linemate Makenna Webster. I don't know. But then I don't have the omnipresent "sources of information" that you guys have.

Why aren't you telling us the details of her decision process?

LOL

Undefeated at home is absolutely achievable for us. Last season there was only ONE home loss and that was the one game the Muzzinator wasn't there behind the bench, if she was there I have no doubts that loss wouldn't have happened. Her presence is dynamic.
Winning the Natty next season? Why wouldn't I make that claim with us being the favorite going into next season? When you see our final roster announced you'll see why I'm confident.

Undefeated at home is absolutely achievable for EVERY team, until they lose one.

smh...

And the bet question remains unanswered. If you're so fricking confident, make the bet.

True. I would agree.

Don't know why. The winters are better in Ohio.

I think every fan believes their team will win. Why would you bet against your team. That's a silly way to think. I'll take the bet!

Not for your team. You haven't had an undefeated regular season home series against us in SEVEN years and that's when the Muzzinator was still in the rebuilding phase.
Any reason I shouldn't believe OUR home series sweep of the Banders won't continue? You always ask for proof, the stats clearly show our barn is the hardest place for any team to come here and earn a win against us.
