Tokyo COVympics: July 23 to August 8

Or they could be so locked into their own focus they won't realize the history they just lived for another week.

And when have I ever used the word "fairness". You want "fair"? Go to Minot ND. That's the only "fair" I expect in life.

Except that you have brought up the concept that she should have bowed out for someone else. As if what she did was so unfair to the alternate that didn't go to Tokyo. Unless you had another suggestion to what it meant to the person who could have taken her place.

Lack of overt teammate response? They've been very supportive in multiple interviews.

It's apparent that people see what they want to see. sic seems to need to put Simone into a small corner- not sure why. So the story is being crafted that Biles is weak (to her teammates, to her country, to people suffering from "real" mental health issues- not sure what). After being the GOAT, BTW.

If she knew she was having issues before she left for Tokyo she could've stayed home and done what was best for the team.

IF this started up on site, that's just bad fortune.

And she did what's best for the team- did you not catch that they almost won gold? The best remaining team members did compete.

So since you KNEW that, then it was about fairness. Keep making things up, that's fine.

Table Tennis semis were fun to watch- so close to a non China final- both semi's went to 7 games, and both times, the Taipei and German opponent had *some* chances. Seeing one rally that went 28- and the two guys were 1-2m behind the table- holy cow. I just can't imagine what it takes to be able to do that.

I never said or claimed "fairness". I said "team" and when it happened she did make the team move.

Otherwise, quit claiming to be a mind reader.

I said,

Was this starting for her before Tokyo?
If it was, should she have just stayed back and opened the spot for another gymnast?

You interpret that as being for the added gymnast; I'm saying send a full team roster that is ready to go if there's a chance X may not be ready for whatever reasons.

Put it this way, say Vasy* (TBL 88) is hurt for RUS (China Olympics) in a few months, he should bow out so the team can have a full roster, not for the other goalie, but his RUS team.

*SB is best in the world so Vasy is the comparison, and I ain't trying to spell that.

I have never seen this sport and it's cool. Two teams, look like about 5 aside. Indoor hoops floor but smaller soccer-like nets. Small ball about half the radius of a basketball. They walk with it but only a couple steps, also dribble and pass, and throw to score.

The hell is this? It's really fun looking like I wanna play.

And you said this after the US put in a sub and almost won the gold. So they had a full roster to compete. Explain it how you want, but in the context of what happened, it's certainly not how it's read.

If there was a more appropriate sub time, it would have been the warm ups, as Simone was down in points in that first rotation, and the US only lost by 3.5 points. But that was old news by the time you post your claimed interpretation.

Handball maybe?

Team Handball? You've never seen it?

It has a lot of combination of sports in it- like the 2 min penalty from hockey, dribbling from basketball, simple fouls (soccer), etc. Interesting combination of a lot of sport.
