Thusday, the Big Digout. Rant, Rave, rest those weary bones! Scores, etc!

Geneseo lost the shutout with a couple of minutes left in the game, but still beat WNEC 9-1.

Also, Framingham State becomes the final team to pick up their first win of the season, with a 3-1 victory over Westfield State.

We might have to go to our friends at the Elias Sports Bureau for confirmation on this, but I don't think a Geneseo goalie has completed a shutout since before the days of Brett Walker. Geneseo's #3 goalie Michael Battaglia almost accomplished exactly that last week, and it looks like Cory Gershon came close last night. So close!

Update: Geneseo's last shut out victory was a 3-0 win over Lebanon Valley on November 2, 2003, with Jeff Phelps in goal. That's a long time ago!

Wow. That's pretty crazy considering Geneseo had those two back-to-back SUNYAC titles in 05 and 06.

I do remember that was always an interesting trivia bit about Brett Walker's great career -- he never had a shutout.

But I didn't realize Geneseo hasn't had a shutout since way back in 2003!
