Threads we shall never see....D-III edition

Re: Threads we shall never see....D-III edition

Remy,

Is Hamilton the college that is in the town of Clinton, or is it the town in which the college called Colgate University is located? :p :D

How about I confuse you some more? Hamilton College is in the Village of Clinton, NY that is in Oneida County. The town of Clinton is in Clinton County about 20 miles north of Plattsburgh!

Re: Threads we shall never see....D-III edition

I stand corrected on the village/town thing.......and I thought Canada was about 20 miles north of Plattsburgh

I don't use aliases like yourself.

Listen here spaztastic. Your mouth has been the butt end of jokes since your purpie_and_Goldie days. It continues to be. Do yourself a favor and think long and hard before you speak\hit submit. If you think I'm an alisas of sorts, you're dumber than I thought. Think of me as a healthy reminder not to spaz and talk stupid. You represent a good program, don't be a ******.

Lighten up and understand the context of this thread. Derek is not representing NU in any official capacity on this board, and in the context of numerous posts about both topics of his post, you should take it in spirit of things which people who follow this feed would regard as unlikely to happen. If you have read any of Derek's official work on behalf of Norwich, you would note that he is a talented writer and does his job well. Were comments of that nature made in an official capacity, I would be upset, too.

Did your parents name you "Purpie_and_Goldie"? Did you change your name to "Purpie_and_Goldie", it really appears to be an Alias to me:confused:

I'm just trying to figure out what he would have used as a relevant six-letter swear word

Norwich vs. NESCAC The series continue- I'm still ripped about this

Every since I read this arrogant piece of BS ranting, I have had little but disgust for everything NESCAC from 12/7/07 - Ron Liebowitz, president of Middlebury College:

Excerpts:
NESCAC, arguably the most successful D-III conference in the division, is also the conference with the most stringent rules that govern varsity athletics, including the length of each season, the number of contests, student eligibility, practice schedules, recruiting policy, post-season play, and others.

It didn’t seem right to me (or “fair”) that some of our varsity teams compete against programs with student bodies that are two, three, and even five times the size of Middlebury’s—programs that begin their seasons weeks ahead of our teams, with many more games/contests under their belts before post-season play, and with fewer other restrictions on their recruiting, admissions, and other relevant areas.

Personally I don't mind it. But, that's because I've only been here at Norwich for half a season and I bring an outsider's perspective in salvating at the chance that there could be more ECAC West/SUNYAC teams playing ECAC East/NESCAC teams.

Will there be a dramatic change? Probably not. But it certainly can't hurt scheduling purposes IMHO. Norwich has an extra game to play with now every year and I'm sure a lot of other teams have some holes to fill on their schedule too.

This will also help strengthen the intra-conference rivalries I feel. NEC, Babson, Castleton games should take on that much more meaning.

The Norwich @ Castleton game is setting up to be a gong show later this year if both teams keep this up.
