Any thoughts as to the American lines for tonight's game?

Forwards and d-men / goalie

Bourque-Bjugstad-Morin
D'Amigo-Nelson-Etem
Kreider-Coyle-Palmieri
Zucker-Shore-Brown
Callahan.

Merrill-Ramage
Dumoulin-Faulk
Forbort-Leddy
Wey.

Campbell.

Talk about depth. You could completely flip those lines and pairings and they'd still make sense.

I apologize as I'm sure I've missed a lot of the conversation, but picking up where FL left off:

Would one expect the third and fourth lines to espouse the traditional third and fourth line roles? Or are they thinking four scoring lines? Three first rounders on the third line, and Zucker and Shore have been en fuego...

Given Allain's high tempo, high scoring mindset from Yale, they'll likely be rolling 4 lines and be an "all offense, all the time" team. You don't have the guys they have on the 3rd and 4th lines sitting on the bench much. Period.

This and this. Definitely a bit of a different approach than last year. Will be fun to watch and interesting to see if it works. Hard to argue with last year's formula, but the talent's certainly there to have 4 scoring lines. And there are still some physical and good defensive forwards there, so it's not like that was ignored. They just weren't all put on the same line.

Re: The WJC Thread. USA! USA! USA!

Although the Yale style game is based on speed and scoring, many of the chances created by Yale come off of a relentless forecheck, I hope Allain has this team set up for the same style of play, if so, it should be fun.

Re: The WJC Thread. USA! USA! USA!

Are we talking game here, or setting up a score thread? Also, if we score, my sincere apologies to Ralph Baer. ;)

If the USA played Yale's schedule, the USA would be guaranteed the repeat gold medal. :p ;)

It's Ylae.

We've won 2 golds with WCHA coaches. I hope that the ECAC can do something. However, if the ECAC is any guide, it's goiing to be one and done in the playoffs.

BTW, I saw some trash talking on TSN's live blog about how the US team lost to RPI (even though it's technically a tie).

What a shorthanded opportunity!

No, technically, it was a loss. These boys aren't playing with ties.

If Canadians want to take solace in a loss to a Top 15 team in a game in which the US was playing with 7 guys who are no longer on the roster, far be it for me to shake them from their dreams.

I am watching the live feed online, there is also a live chatroom and there are Sioux fans on there complaining in Finnish about the refs! ;)
