Ignore the first few shots regarding football and the rest of the video rings true...

Change the colors to green and white and the video perfectly describes basketball season with Save-a-lot sparties coming out of the woodwork.

Hey there Davy D in my best cheesy radio voice. Looks like you are the one who needs a countless supply of tissues with your bitterness towards Michigan hockey and its level of success. Did you run out of tissues from that crushing first round playoff loss to freakin' last place Bowling Green? First radio announcer I have come across on the message boards with such behavior. I bet your games are a real treat to listen to. Enjoy that extra long offseason in MQT. I can't wait til that tilted advantage evens out.

No tears over Bowling Green. They earned their wins. No tears over the losses against UM either. Especially in the Saturday night contest. UM was clearly the better team and Hunwick was outstanding all weekend. Michigan is a very good team and a storied program and they have earned every bit of praise they get. Anyone who paid attention to the broadcasts of the UM-NMU series heard Red called "one of the all time best coaches" and Michigan "one of the best teams in the country" and Carl Hagelin one of the best players. Even complimented Scooter Vaughan ("that's the kind of hockey player a "Scooter" is, the kind that gets two big assists"), despite giving him a bit of grief over his tendency to have his arms outstretched whenever a penalty is called. Homer...absolutely. But even "Meeeeeeeeeechigan" has been know to have a little home flavoring on their shows. Was I happy Duluth won on Saturday? Defnitely. But the Wolverines earned the right to be there. And they played a heck of a game that just didn't have the last bounce go their way. No matter how much I like or don't like the team is immaterial. They are one of the best and it showed this season.

And it's fun to get you Maize and Blue stirred up. You sure do a great job at getting the rest of the college hockey world going! congratulations on a great season and look forward to what may be our last trip to Yost next February!

It has been posted in one Michigan blog site that Jacob Fallon will not return to the team for 2011-12.

who??....didnt see him on the ice after xmas....dont remember seeing him on the ice much at all this year

He was suspended by the team for the remainder of the season on the same day Llewellyn was kicked off (the Monday after the MSU home/home in January). There was a chance he could be reinstated for next year but guess not.

Bigger yet, a rumor is swirling that a prominent Michigan player is leaving early. No details on who... could be Wohlberg, Merrill or Burlon. Awaiting confirmation.

Re: THE University of Michigan 2010-2011 Season Thread

happens almost every year...if its only one of them, no big deal....reload..

Agree if it is Burlon to some degree, although he is a terrific d-man. Merrill would be an even bigger loss. Wohlberg, though, is one of the few offensive threats that would be coming back.

Good point, losing Wohlberg would be a big hit. Some good recruits coming in but need to find a big gun or two to cover losses from graduating players. Not sure if any available so late in the game but Michigan always develops players.

The guy on the scooter was/is a LONGTIME Michigan Hockey season ticket holder. Used to sit in the front row of the end zone at Yost with a flag every single game. Not cool to make fun of him. In the least.

Gotta say, though, I've chuckled at this video a few times.

The Pure Michigan parodies making the rounds were funny at the time, but are rather passe' now, unlike longtime season tix holders. This guy still sits down at the northeast end at Yost, right under the balcony where the scratched players stand. He's at every game, every JLA game, every regional game and I bet he was in Minneapolis, too. He's hardly a Walmarter unlike the bitter character who probably put that old bit together. He's more than likely a multiple sport season tix holder and is indeed a Michigan Man.

Re: THE University of Michigan 2010-2011 Season Thread

Burlon officially announced that he is not returning.

Oh, well. Thanks for posting the info, Streaker.

He wasn't the first, and won't be the last. It will be tough to replace him, but we'll have to manage.

Good luck, Mel! I really enjoyed watching our hockey team for the last 20 years with you on the bench.

Will always remember back in '96 when you stayed on the bus a little longer than the rest of the team when you arrived from Cincinnati.

Wish you all the best up in Houghton.

Hope Mel can bring some good UM recruits to play for tech.

Michigan had several recruits ranked high, but less than usual.
