Good luck with your blog! :) Brad's is certainly a good one to emulate and I hope you have as much success as he has.

As a fan that follows Brad's blog (and a few others) I know that most of us like lots of links pertaining to our team, or other college hockey matters that might impact the team. Info about recruits, links to videos of your team's goals, and of course the primary key for a successful blog, current updates, will help you gain a good following.

Phew, home ice! Who would have thunk it? ;)

UND locks up at least 5th place, but could still climb as high as 3rd.
They are 2 points behind UMD and 4 behind SCSU. UMD plays UAA and SCSU plays MSUM next weekend.

We need UND to sweep MTU, need UMD to lose at least one game at UAA and would need SCSU to be swept by MSUM in order for 3rd to be a possibility.

The WCHA tiebreaker is this:

1. Head to head.
2. Most conference wins.
3. If a four-game series was played between the teams, the tiebreaker goes to the team with the fewest goals against in head-to-head games. If only two games were played, go on to No. 4.
4. Goal differential in all conference games.

If we are tied with SCSU in points, we win due to #3 (we outscored them 17-10 in our 4 games).

But then we would have to play AA. And we want them at the X! I want to see SCSU finish 3rd, and have AA beat them in the first round. We finish 4th and face CC. And UMD finishes 5th and plays Minny. And we still would end up avoiding the play in.

I like our chances to possibly sneak by UMD, given their tough match up with UAA. Too bad Wisco couldn't have taken care of business last week. I don't see Mankato picking up more than one win against SCSU.

It would still be big, though, to sneak into 4th. Then it only takes one first round upset to avoid the Thurs. game.

Either way, we're going to draw MN or CC in the first round, no easy out either way.

Perhaps the biggest thing is the team finally seems to be clicking better. Maybe this year we won't peak in February, but will build to a big March and April. :)

Gotta keep the momentum going boys.

I'm glad I'm just a fan so I can speculate about things like pairwise and seeding. Hope the boys aren't looking ahead like we are. Get through Tech, then the 1st round, then worry about the rest! Tech isn't just going to roll over and die for us...

That's a good point. Tech seems to save their best hockey for the Sioux. The Sioux will need to be ready to play, and play a solid 60 minutes each game to win.

I have a feeling there will be one more game at least against the gophers for the Fighting Sioux. The way it's shaping out, and if MN can take 2/3 from UMD in Duluth, hey, they beat them Friday. Anyways, it's a decent possibility that could happen, and I would love nothing but a Fighting Sioux-gopher game for a play in game. Perhaps I'd get a little respect for my loyalty at work...yeah right. The Fighting Sioux still have to win a few to make sure they get a decent seed for the tourney, otherwise, I think they're sitting in a good position.

Thanks! I'll be working with the team next year as a student assistant so I hope to have a sit similar to Brad's with current updates and such in the works. UMass has really fallen off the map in the last few weeks, so I think I'll be writing more about other teams starting in the next week or so.

I was at the games this weekend. What a great job by the Sioux. They played with heart and the PK was excellent. Looking forward to next weekend.

It would be great to finish in 4th. Then we only need one upset to happen to avoid the playin game on thursday. I would love to play the gophers for a chance to go to the final 5 but part of me believes they have the best chance of creating the much needed first round upset.

Mostly I would love to see the sioux get a victory over denver in the final 5!

First things first----- Beat the living h e double hockey sticks out of tech and see where we land, and then we go from there!!!!!:D :D
