The Top 25 College Hockey Teams of the NCAA Era

I'd like to participate in the "guess the top ten" contest except I'm not sure where to look for data other than p 17 of the NCAA record book (best winning percentages) and Wikipedia. My searches so far have not provided much more information than what i've found there.

I have found five teams that seem very likely to be in the list, which means I still need to find five more (and then rank them somehow)....

Thanks! I also found a site that listed the NCAA Tournament winners with their season records, and between that site and this link I was able to see which of the teams with the highest winning percentage also won their regular-season conference championship and their conference tournament. I was not motivated enough to further cross-reference that list against hobey baker winners, etc.

I feel that I have a halfway decent shot at picking 4 of the top 5 but in what order, who knows?

Maybe after Jan 1 2012 FS23 can at least tell us how many different schools are on his top ten list? I think having 9 different schools may be too many, we'll see.....

Is there any way we can review our picks? I don't want to change anything, I just forgot to note down the final order I put my 10 teams in.

Hmm.....do you need 20 entries or entries from 20 different people?


I had 12 potential teams for my top ten, and while I feel confident that I have four of the top five, the order is not clear....I could enter a second time but only if I know that it doesn't mess things up.

20 different people is the way I understood it, I'll ask though.

I think when the leaderboard comes out, your leaderboard alias will be clickable and allow you to review your picks. You'll also see how others have picked.

I suppose if you have 19 right before the deadline I could ask another member of our household to enter....even if that person's choice of teams is suspiciously similar to mine, there would be another name and another e-mail address.....

the point of the contest is to increase traffic to the website, correct? and the webmaster needs a certain hit count to offer to potential advertisers?

Basically, yes. I asked and they are looking for 20 different people...so do what you have to do. Viz was pimping the contest out pretty heavily yesterday, and that seemed to draw in a few or so. What is interesting, is that well over 100 have looked at the form, and currently only 13 have filled out the form. About 44 hours left to get 7 people to fill out the form. Can it be done?

As we're just under 24 hours away, we're at 16 entries. That means that we need 4 more between now and 8am (Eastern) tomorrow. It's doable, but considering that it is a holiday (and probably no one will be up early tomorrow :p) I'm not sure how likely it is.

For those still interested in doing so, it is easy and simple, and you can win a jersey! The link is my previous post, or you can go to collegehockeyweekly.com, click on the greatest teams link at the top, and then there is a big link in the middle of that page for the contest. Hopefully we get another handful or so.

We're on the cusp!

19 entries with about 16.5 hours left. Hopefully we get at least one more entry.

Also, look for #10 to be announced later in the afternoon tomorrow. I'll put the link here when it is online.

With 6.5 hours left, we're at 19 entries still. If you are thinking about filling out a form, please do it soon. I'm not going to be online until tomorrow morning (after the 8am Eastern deadline), so I'll let everyone know here whether we got 20 entries or not.
